Rosie O'Donnell's daughter Chelsea begins prison sentence for probation violation
Chelsea O’Donnell, daughter of Rosie O’Donnell, has begun her prison sentence following a probation violation related to a drug offense, as Us Weekly has learned exclusively.
Us has acquired Chelsea's mugshot, captured on November 18 upon her admission to the Taycheedah Correctional Institution (TCI) at the age of 28.
The photograph shows Chelsea with a calm expression, her blue eyes fixed on the lens. According to its official website, TCI operates as a maximum and medium-security institution exclusively for women.
During her time at the institution, Chelsea will be permitted visits from approved individuals. Anyone wishing to visit must complete the necessary documentation provided by the facility.
The inmate population at the facility is comprised of 62 percent white individuals, 26 percent Black, 12 percent American Indian, 11 percent Hispanic, and other ethnicities. The typical age of a prisoner is 38, ranging from 18 to 82 years old. The institution reported that 52 percent of its occupants are incarcerated for violent crimes, 16 percent for property crimes, 21 percent for drug-related offenses, and 11 percent for various other infractions.
This correctional center provides various programs, including parenting support, recreational activities, trauma therapy, religious education, GED preparation courses, welding instruction, a cosmetology curriculum, and other academic avenues.
As Us previously reported, on October 22, a judge in Wisconsin mandated that Chelsea would face an unspecified period of incarceration due to allegations of breaching her probation conditions.

Official court filings indicated that a representative from the drug treatment court asserted Chelsea had violated her terms following accusations of sexual assault. Furthermore, Chelsea was cited for failing to demonstrate substantial improvement within the program.
The court records submitted by the treatment initiative declared, “The circumstances pertinent to this petition have been reviewed by the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team and are considered adequate justification to merit removal from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program.”

Chelsea had been held at the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office since September 9, stemming from the alleged infractions. On October 27, an official from the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office informed Us that Chelsea was slated for transfer to a correctional facility nearby soon.
After her daughter's incarceration, Rosie conveyed to Us, “I empathize with individuals battling addiction – Chelsea was born into addiction, and it has been a difficult path for her and her children. We persist in loving and standing by her during these awful periods. Prayers are appreciated.”
Chelsea’s legal troubles commenced on September 10 with her apprehension on accusations of drug possession and child neglect. She was granted bond but was re-apprehended on October 11 for new drug-related offenses. Following another release, she was arrested for a third occasion on November 18, facing further drug charges.
That January, the court handed Chelsea a sentence of six years on probation and mandated her completion of a treatment program. The presiding judge indicated that Chelsea might incur up to 18 months of incarceration should she breach the conditions of her probation.
Chelsea received directives forbidding the possession or consumption of alcohol, controlled substances, or any other illicit substances.

In the period following her sentencing, Chelsea received reprimands from the court for several infractions. By June, she had been commended for her advancements during a hearing. Nevertheless, a few months subsequent, the court directed Chelsea to compose a written explanation detailing why she merited another opportunity.
Whatever correspondence Chelsea submitted proved insufficient to dissuade the judge from imposing the full extent of the law.
