Sabrina Carpenter Puts Friendship First Attending Corey Fogelmanis Film Premiere Amidst Sold Out Shows

Despite her demanding schedule, pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter consistently prioritizes showing up for her friends' endeavors.

Amidst her successful, sold-out performances at New York City's Madison Square Garden, Carpenter, aged 26, took time out to attend the film premiere of her close friend and former Girl Meets World costar, Corey Fogelmanis, on Monday, October 27.

The vocalist discreetly bypassed the red carpet to view the film, titled I Wish You All the Best, alongside Fogelmanis, subsequently disguising herself with a hat and spectacles to exit unnoticed once the movie finished.

“I’ve consistently been impressed by her demeanor, and witnessing her now possess the means to pursue her artistic vision without compromise is truly incredible,” Fogelmanis, 26, shared exclusively with Us Weekly at his film’s New York debut at the IPIC Theater and Club Bohemia at Gitano in New York City. “I am incredibly proud of her, and I adore all of her work. Rest assured, I’ll be attending every single one of her concerts indefinitely. ‘Fast Times’ always.”

Joey King, a close confidante of Sabrina Carpenter, was seen shedding tears during her concert.

He further mentioned that he and his mother were present for Carpenter’s tour performance on Sunday, October 26, remarking: “It was absolutely wonderful.”

From 2014 to 2017, Carpenter and Fogelmanis shared the screen on Girl Meets World, a Disney Channel continuation of the 1990s sitcom Boy Meets World, and have cultivated a strong friendship that endures to this day.

For his most recent portrayal in I Wish You All the Best, the inaugural directorial effort by Tommy Dorfman, Fogelmanis delivers a compelling act as Ben, a nonbinary adolescent who seeks refuge with their sister (played by Alexandra Daddario) and her spouse (played by Cole Sprouse) subsequent to being expelled from their parental home.

“My primary wish is for people to find entertainment, but beyond that, I truly hope they leave feeling motivated to support someone in their own lives, as that support is the sole reason Ben navigates their situation successfully,” Fogelmanis expressed to Us regarding his aspirations for the audience’s reception of Ben’s narrative. “This particular story manifests in countless forms in reality, and the rendition Tommy chose to present is quite akin to an optimistic dream.”

He further elaborated: “Such outcomes indeed occur in the real world, yet only when a robust support network is in place. … Therefore, offering individuals kindness and empathy can genuinely preserve lives.”

Completing the ensemble for I Wish You All the Best are Lena Dunham, delivering a humorous portrayal of the eccentric art instructor Ms. Lyons, Miles Gutierrez-Riley as the engaging Nathan, and Lexi Underwood alongside Lisa Yamada portraying Ben’s companions, Meleika and Sophie.

“I’ve encountered few films that depict a nonbinary lead character with such intricate depth and sensitive nuance, making it a distinctive narrative, yet within its specificity, we discover universal themes,” Gutierrez-Riley, 27, conveyed to Us concerning the movie. “I believe that regardless of your identity — nonbinary, trans, queer, or otherwise — observing a path of self-expression and personal realization depicted with such warmth and profound emotion, you will undoubtedly discover elements to resonate with.”

The film I Wish You All the Best is scheduled for theatrical release on November 7.
