Savannah Blackstock Lee Commends Late Father's Partner for Upholding His Vision and Legacy

Brandon Blackstock’s daughter Savannah Blackstock Lee recently commended her father's partner, Brittney Marie Jones, for upholding his vision and continuing his work following his passing.

Savannah, 23, used her Instagram Story on Sunday, December 7, to express admiration for Jones' efforts concerning the Headwaters Livestock Auction. This enterprise was co-founded by Brandon and Jones before his death from melanoma in August at age 48.

“Yesterday @headwaterlivestock hosted its inaugural Cowboy Christmas and Ranch horse sale... My father's primary goal was always to unite the community, and @britneymariej is beautifully carrying on his vision,” Savannah wrote in her post. “I truly wish I could have attended in person, but I'm certain it was extraordinary and would have filled my dad with immense pride for his team.”

Prior to his relationship with Jones, Brandon was married to Kelly Clarkson between 2013 and 2020. Together, they had two children: daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9. Brandon also had Savannah and son Seth, 18, with his first wife, Melissa Ashworth.

Brandon’s passing on August 7 was confirmed by a family representative, noting his three-year fight with melanoma.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” the family told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers and request that everyone respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

Brandon’s obituary described Jones as his “beautiful and loving partner in life and business.”

The obituary stated that Brandon and Brittney Marie Jones “started building a life, building companies and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana.”

Jones, a former assistant to Clarkson, 43, had been discreetly in a relationship with Brandon before his passing. She was also reportedly close to his children.

An exclusive source revealed to Us in August that “Brandon and Brittney were in a relationship, and his family was very happy and supportive.” The source added that while Brandon maintained a high degree of privacy, particularly after departing the entertainment sector, his family fully endorsed his relationship with Brittney.

Savannah also previously addressed her father's passing in an emotional Instagram post shared just weeks after his death.

In the August 19 post, she wrote, “My daddy always ensured my dreams came true, no matter the obstacles. He didn't just support my dreams; he pursued them alongside me. He was my biggest cheerleader across the globe, my best friend, my counsel, and my favorite person to call every day.”

The tribute was accompanied by a collection of photographs documenting her life with her father throughout the years.

She concluded, “While I lost a part of myself and my favorite cowboy, Heaven welcomed an angel. I am immensely grateful for the time we shared, and I look forward to eternity. I love you, daddy, and I will miss you forever. Enjoy your ranch in heaven; God designed it with your heart's desires in mind.”
