Savannah Chrisley Admits Marriage Is Daunting While Dad Todd Chrisley Eagerly Awaits Wedding Date

While Savannah Chrisley is open to the idea of matrimony, she has yet to find a successful path to it.

On the November 25, 2025, installment of her “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” podcast, the subject of tying the knot dominated the discussion, particularly when Savannah, 28, conversed with her father, Todd Chrisley, whose primary query was about her future wedding date.

“Is marriage something you envision for yourself in the future?” Todd, 56, inquired of his child.

Her response was, “Yes, eventually, I suppose.” Todd appeared less than entirely satisfied by her reply, quipping in return, “Do you anticipate this happening before I begin receiving social security benefits?”

Savannah Chrisley Shares Counsel From Brittany Aldean Following Robert Breakup

Savannah, having previously been engaged to former partner Nic Kerdiles until their separation in 2020, and having considered marriage with ex Robert Shiver prior to their 2025 breakup, shows no immediate urgency to enter matrimony. Continue reading for her insights on marriage.

Savannah Expresses Apprehension About Marriage

During a June 2023 installment of her podcast, “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley,” Savannah confessed to feeling intimidated by the prospect of marriage.

“It presents such a challenge, especially in the South, where there’s a prevailing expectation of, ‘You ought to be married. You ought to have children,’” Savannah articulated. “Yet, I find the concept of marriage more daunting than having children.”

She elaborated, “I’m not certain if it’s – and this might sound unfavorable – but perhaps it’s because with children, you retain a sense of authority, you understand? Therefore, should I have a child, it would be my duty to nurture them and guide them through life’s stages.”

“However, in marriage, it’s almost as if you relinquish a portion of your being to another individual,” she further stated. “This then grants them the capacity to cause you pain.”

Marriage Was Not a Priority While Her Parents Were Incarcerated

The concurrent incarceration of both her parents significantly influenced Savannah’s perspective on marriage. On the same podcast, she clarified, “Mentally, I feel unable to progress in my personal life. Until I am certain of their presence, I cannot marry. I cannot have a child. … [But I am confident] they will ultimately be included in these milestones.”

She Contemplated Matrimony with Former Partner Robert Shiver

Savannah and her former boyfriend, Robert Shiver, concluded their relationship permanently in March 2025, but not before discussing the prospect of marriage. “We certainly had conversations about it. We both acknowledge, ‘Look, this is what we envision for our lives.’ However, he has personal matters to address on his end before any such event could materialize,” she conveyed to People in March 2025 regarding the potential.

Savannah Previously Envisioned an Extravagant Wedding

“My consistent declaration was for a grand wedding celebration,” Savannah informed People during that same March conversation. “I desired all the elaborate details. Yet, in truth, I believe that when you find yourself in the appropriate circumstances, within a suitable relationship, such elaborate, ostentatious displays are unnecessary to affirm your affection for another.”

Post-Engagement Cancellation, She Pondered the Essence of Contentment

In 2020, following her separation from then-fiancé Nic Kerdiles, Savannah posted an extensive reflection on the true nature of happiness. Their engagement had taken place in 2018.

According to The Sun, the passage stated, “One day you will come to understand that joy was never contingent upon your profession, academic achievements, or marital status. Contentment was never about emulating those who preceded you; it was never about conforming to societal norms.”

The message proceeded: “Eventually, you will perceive that happiness consistently resided in exploration, optimism, heeding your inner voice, and allowing it to guide you unconditionally.”

“True happiness perpetually involved self-compassion; it consistently meant accepting the individual you were evolving into,” the quotation went on. “In time, you will grasp that happiness invariably involved mastering the art of self-coexistence, and that your contentment was never dependent on external forces. It was always intrinsically yours. It was always intrinsically yours.”
