Sharon Osbourne Mourns Beloved Dog Elvis After Husband Ozzy's Death

Sharon Osbourne has shared a heartfelt homage to her cherished canine companion, Elvis, several months following the passing of her spouse, Ozzy Osbourne.

“It's hard to believe I'm sharing this, but my beloved Elvis departed this week. He blessed me with 14 wonderful years. He remained with me through everything. Sleep peacefully, my sweet boy!” Sharon, aged 73, conveyed on Instagram on Sunday, October 19.

Accompanying her announcement, Sharon posted various pictures chronicling Elvis's life. One photograph depicted Elvis resting on Ozzy’s chest, and another showed her and her deceased husband beaming happily alongside their pet.

Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Sharon and Ozzy, similarly expressed grief over Elvis's passing in her own social media update. (The pair also had children Aimee, 42, and Jack, 39. Furthermore, Ozzy was a father to Jessica and Louis, from his marriage to Thelma Riley. He also adopted Elliot, 59, Riley's son from a prior relationship.)

“With deep sadness, I share the news of Elvis's departure this week,” Kelly, 40, conveyed on Instagram on Sunday. “Our protective angel is no longer with us. Elvis remained constantly by my side after my father's death. He supported me through the most challenging period of my existence. I search for a silver lining in this, and the only thought that emerges is that perhaps my father required his company.”

Kelly added, “Life can be incredibly harsh yet also bestow numerous blessings. We were exceptionally fortunate to have Elvis for 14 years. Thank you for all your affection, Elvis, you were truly unique. I love you, rest peacefully, my sweet prince, until our paths cross once more!”

The announcement of Osbourne's death at 76 years old was made in July.

“It is with profound sorrow, beyond what words can express, that we must inform you of the passing of our dear Ozzy Osbourne this morning,” a family communiqué stated. “He was among his loved ones, encompassed by affection. We request that everyone honor our family's need for privacy during this period. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.”

Sharon first commented publicly on the iconic musician’s demise in September.

“I continue to struggle to articulate my gratitude for the immense outpouring of affection and encouragement you have demonstrated across social media platforms. Your remarks, shared content, and commemorations have provided me with a level of solace greater than you can imagine. Every gesture has been acknowledged; indeed, they have sustained me through numerous evenings,” Sharon shared on Instagram then, accompanying a clip of herself and Kelly engaging with an owl.

She added, “While I am still navigating this new phase, I wished to present some magnificent beings I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon alongside. The bond formed with these formidable avian creatures is founded purely on faith and assurance. They will only opt to alight upon you if they perceive you as secure and not intimidated by their presence. This is a connection I comprehend intimately, and the occasion was truly enchanting.”

Sharon finished by saying, “I hold affection for all of you, and I am profoundly thankful for the extraordinary volume of love you persist in directing towards me.”
