Shaun White Cheers on Olympics Post Nina Dobrev Split
Shaun White seemed in high spirits during his initial television appearance following his separation from Nina Dobrev.
The 39-year-old White was a guest on the Today program this past Tuesday, September 16, where he spoke about the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.
“I’ll be active, certainly cheering on my competing friends and simply absorbing the atmosphere,” he remarked about the forthcoming games, scheduled for February 2026. “This marks my first Winter Olympics without participating, which brings forth many emotions, but truthfully, I’m eager to offer support and experience it.”
The ex-professional snowboarder and skateboarder, a gold medalist in the half-pipe at the 2006 Winter Olympics, further stated, “My inaugural Olympics where I competed was in Italy, so returning there is evoking many recollections. It ought to be enjoyable.”

White humorously suggested he “might need to revive the hairstyle,” alluding to his distinctive thick, lengthy red hair he wore during his debut Olympics.

Following swift speculation online suggesting unfaithfulness as the cause of the couple’s separation, an insider connected to the ex-couple disclosed exclusively to Us on September 12 that the termination of their relationship did not stem from infidelity.

Concurrently, another insider informed Us exclusively on Monday, September 15, that Dobrev is “heartbroken” by the breakup. The source further mentioned that she and White, who revealed their engagement in October 2024, “had just begun organizing their wedding, with arrangements actively underway.”
Despite the separation being “quite recent,” the insider revealed that Dobrev is receiving “comfort from her closest female friends, who have been reaching out to her.”

“Our interests align,” White disclosed. “The circumstances of our initial encounter truly solidified our connection. And any challenges we encounter tend to diminish through open dialogue. It’s been nothing short of wonderful.”
