Sister Wives: Harmony Lost as Kody Brown's Marriages Unravel

Kody Brown has held viewers' attention for years on Sister Wives, a program delving into his connections with his three former spouses and current wife — yet, is there harmony among all the women?

Meri Brown became Kody's wife in 1990. Subsequently, Janelle Brown and Christine Brown became part of the family in 1993 and 1994, in that order. By 2014, Kody had legally ended his marriage to Meri so he could officially marry Robyn Brown and adopt her three offspring from a previous union.

Strain among Kody’s initial three wives and Robyn escalated during the COVID-19 health crisis, following allegations that Kody was primarily staying at Robyn’s residence. During the Sister Wives: One-on-One special in January 2022, Christine admitted that “integrating families proves to be exceptionally challenging.”

Upon Christine’s departure from Kody in November 2021, her disagreements with Robyn and Meri grew more apparent. “I can no longer fulfill the role of their sister wife. I am able to be their friend,” Christine stated in an episode aired in October 2022.

Nevertheless, Christine and Janelle — who disclosed her own separation from Kody in December 2022 — have maintained a strong bond. Meri, for her part, revealed her and Kody’s dissolution of marriage in January 2023.
