Son of Rob Reiner Charged in Parents' Deaths
Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found deceased in their home on December 14.
TMZ reported at the time that the Los Angeles Fire Department received a call in the afternoon for “medical aid” at the location. Reports soon followed identifying the victims as a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman in Rob and Michele’s Brentwood, California dwelling. The identities of the deceased were later confirmed by a family representative as Rob and Michele, who had married in 1989.
The family issued a statement to Variety, stating, “With deep sadness, we confirm the tragic deaths of Michele and Rob Reiner.” It continued, “We are devastated by this abrupt tragedy and request respect for our privacy during this incredibly hard period.”
On December 15, the next day, Us Weekly verified that Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Rob and Michele, was taken into custody on a murder charge in connection with their passing.

Background on Rob Reiner
Rob Reiner began his acting profession during the 1960s. Although initially recognized for portraying Michael “Meathead” Stivic in the popular 1970s comedy All in the Family, Rob transitioned to become one of Hollywood's preeminent filmmakers.
His directorial credits include movies such as The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, A Few Good Men, Rumor Has It, The Bucket List, among others. Over time, Rob also had guest roles in series like New Girl and The Bear. Additionally, he acted in motion pictures including Sleepless in Seattle and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Us verified on December 15 that Nick, Rob and Michele’s son, was detained on a murder charge subsequent to the passing of his parents. To date, no additional information regarding the murder has been released.
Before his apprehension, Nick was extensively reported to be considered a person of interest in the investigation. On December 14, a source informed Us that there was speculation a family member of Rob and Michele might be implicated in their deaths.
