Loved ones and acquaintances are still grieving the loss of Sophia Hutchins after an unfortunate incident.

TMZ reported that Hutchins — who served as Caitlyn Jenner’s close companion and business associate — passed away at age 29 on July 2 in Malibu, California, due to a collision between an ATV and a separate automobile.

Although specific information about the crash is scarce, TMZ indicated that Hutchins, while operating an ATV on a roadway, collided with the rear bumper of another vehicle in motion.

The force of the collision propelled the ATV off the roadside, causing Hutchins to plunge approximately 350 feet into a gorge. She was declared deceased at the site, as reported by TMZ.

Police Statements Regarding Sophia Hutchins’ Demise

Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department informed the Daily Mail that he thinks Caitlyn attended the crash location while sheriff’s personnel were present.

Regarding the incident itself, Saucedo offered additional specifics concerning the prelude to the collision.

“It appears she might have been traveling at excessive speed and struck the rear of the other vehicle, the other party involved, which subsequently caused her to swerve right and plunge over the cliff,” he conveyed to the Daily Mail in a conversation published July 5. “It doesn't seem as though she was pursuing them. My impression is she simply approached them suddenly and then impacted the car. It looked like she attempted to navigate around it, but her speed was too high, resulting in her merely striking the rear section of that Mazda, which led her to veer away and fall off the cliff at that point.”

On July 16, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner verified that Hutchins’ formal cause of death was recorded as numerous blunt force traumas. Her location of death was a precipice, and the classification is noted as an accident.
