Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, former wife of Justin Trudeau, is speaking out regarding his recently publicized relationship with Katy Perry.
"As individuals, we are susceptible to emotional impact," the 50-year-old Sophie disclosed to "Arlene is Alone" podcast host Arlene Dickinson during the Wednesday, November 12, broadcast, following an inquiry into her approach to "the public nature of Justin's actions," which appeared to reference the former Canadian prime minister's burgeoning connection with pop icon, Perry, 41.
She went on to state, “Your response to circumstances is entirely your prerogative. Therefore, I opt to focus on the melody rather than the discord.”
Sophie further elaborated that her attention is directed towards her individual development since her separation from Justin, 53, in August 2023, concluding an 18-year marital union.

For the sake of our children’s welfare, we request your respect for our and their discretion. We appreciate your understanding.”
Perry, in her own personal sphere, concluded her engagement to actor Orlando Bloom in July, following a nine-year relationship. They are parents to a daughter, Daisy Dove, 5.
