Sources including TMZ indicate that authorities in British Columbia, Canada, are investigating Lofranco’s passing. The exact cause remains unknown at this time.
His last cinematic appearance was in 2018's Gotti, where he acted alongside John Travolta, who portrayed John Gotti Sr. The movie also featured the esteemed late actress Kelly Preston.
Beyond his work in Gotti, Lofranco gained recognition for his inaugural performance as Conrad Hartman in the 2013 romantic comedy At Middleton, and for taking on the main character, James Burn, in the 2014 crime drama Jamesy Boy. Lofranco also had a role in Angelina Jolie’s 2014 wartime drama, Unbroken, and appeared in the 2015 short film Home. Additional entries in his filmography include 2015’s Dixieland and 2016’s King Cobra.
In a 2014 interview with Interview magazine, Lofranco stated, “I made the choice to pursue acting at 17.” He elaborated, “I consistently aimed to entertain, always drawing people's laughter and being the focal point. It feels like I was performing my entire life. Eventually, I recognized this inclination, which had previously led me into difficulties. I enrolled in summer acting courses, followed by a year of conservatory training at the New York Film Academy, and that’s when I landed Jamesy Boy.”
Lofranco confessed that the opportunity to collaborate with Jolie, then 50, on the set of Unbroken was somewhat unbelievable for him.
He recalled, chuckling, “As a child, Angelina Jolie was my ideal woman. Now I’m set to film a movie alongside her. It’s truly astounding.” He added, “When I share this with others, their reaction is typically, ‘Yeah… OK.’ They often don’t credit my story.”

He went on to say, “The other day, I encountered some women who declared, ‘You’re not an actor,’ and my response was, ‘Alright …’ Subsequently, they would search for information about me and so on. It’s an experience I suppose I need to become accustomed to. Occasionally, I’ll claim to be an artist, a legal professional, or an engineering student, simply because in Los Angeles, everyone identifies as an ‘actor.’”
Lofranco further revealed his alternative career path, sharing with the publication, “I would likely relocate to Africa to contribute to humanitarian initiatives there; assisting underprivileged children and dedicating myself to those in distress.”
Regarding his future aspirations, Lofranco expressed a desire to pursue “authentic, documentary-style films.”
He clarified, “I aim to avoid any projects that might imperil my professional trajectory.” He added, “I intend to be judicious in my selections. Among the actors whose career decisions I admire are Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, and River Phoenix.”
