Stanley Tucci Reflects on Age Gap with Wife and His Cancer Journey
Actor Stanley Tucci expressed little worry regarding the 21-year age gap between himself and his wife, Felicity Blunt.
“It saddens me that I won't witness her growing old, nor be able to care for her should she require it,” the 64-year-old Tucci revealed to The Times of London in a feature published on Saturday, September 27, having first stated that his age difference with his wife didn't trouble him. “I believe there's a genuine beauty in couples experiencing the aging process together. And short of an extraordinary event, that won't be possible.”
Tucci first encountered the 44-year-old literary agent at the 2006 premiere of The Devil Wears Prada, a film where he shared the screen with Felicity’s sister, Emily Blunt. The couple, now married, reconnected four years subsequently at Emily's 2010 nuptials to actor John Krasinski.
Stanley, whose first wife, Kate Tucci, passed away in 2009 following her struggle with breast cancer, later married Felicity in 2012. Together, they welcomed their son Matteo in 2015 and daughter Emilia in 2018. (Stanley also has three older children from his marriage to Kate.)

“Enduring it after my wife and friends had passed away was terrible, yet I find myself happier now than I was previously,” Stanley conveyed to The Times, describing his chemotherapy and radiation therapies. “My only regret is the difficulty it posed for Felicity, who was giving birth concurrently with my treatment. And naturally, it was tough on the children.”
Stanley has now experienced several years of cancer remission.
“My thoughts are clearer than they were earlier. I possess a more defined understanding of myself,” he informed the publication. “In a decade and a half, I will reach 80 years of age, and there are many things I wish to accomplish before then. My relatives have enjoyed longevity, and I too aspire to a long life.”
He proceeded, “It's a frightening experience, particularly when you have children you wish to be present for, as your body undergoes changes and you become unable to perform activities you once could.”

“I truly cannot endure more than 24 hours without it,” he joked, alluding to a recent Pilates session. “I am in significantly better physical condition than I was prior to my illness. Physical activity simply enhances all aspects of life. It enables one to engage in other pursuits, such as dining and wine consumption.”
Stanley has also been indulging in culinary and beverage experiences throughout Italy on his travel programs, Searching for Italy and Tucci in Italy.
“The wonderful cuisine of my childhood, the camaraderie, the social events, all those elements — I advocate for pursuing what you adore, what truly captivates your interest, and what ignites your passion,” he clarified to the British publication. “I advocate for delving into those passions and presenting them to others in fresh ways. No one in my family was involved in restaurants or culinary arts, yet food held paramount importance.”
