Stars Flocking Out of LA Seeking Simpler, Healthier, or More Culturally Rich Lives
A number of prominent celebrities are opting to leave Los Angeles behind and establish their lives in different locations.
For instance, following the conclusion of This Is Us several years ago, actress Chrissy Metz made the move from Hollywood to Nashville.
“I spent two decades in L.A., but my relatives reside in Florida, my home state, and during the global health crisis, I found it convenient to reach them from this location,” Metz shared with People in April 2025. “The standard of living is simply superior here. Everything is a short commute, making it significantly less stressful.”
Metz's experience isn't unique. Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed, parents to two children, traded their Tinseltown existence for a rural farm setting.
“Strolling across the property with our children, pets, and loved ones, at each point, you're gathering sustenance from trees, bushes, or directly from the soil, providing food for everyone as you traverse the land,” Somerhalder remarked in a November 2023 chat with E! News, acknowledging that managing a farm demands considerable effort. “It’s truly remarkable to observe these magnificent living beings and witness their harmonious cohabitation on the farm.”
Come November 2025, Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul disclosed that he and his household have relocated to Paris. “Following the wildfires that affected L.A., we realized our time in L.A. was over, prompting us to sell our residence there and make the move to Paris,” he elaborated.
