Stella Parton Speaks Out Amidst Sister Dolly's Health Concerns
Amidst ongoing public discussions concerning the health of Dolly Parton, her younger sibling, Stella Parton, has shared her perspective.
“Last week, my elder sister Dolly provided an update to her followers regarding her health, stating she was undergoing treatment for kidney stones,” Stella communicated on Facebook on Wednesday, October 8. “My sister Freida is worried and requested prayers for Dolly.”
Stella, aged 76, is referencing a message posted by Freida, 68, which followed Dolly, 79, calling off her scheduled Las Vegas performances on September 28, attributing the cancellation to “some health issues.”
“I, for my part, value the confidentiality of ALL my relatives and will not breach their trust by talking about their private affairs publicly,” Stella added. “For more details, kindly visit their respective social media accounts.”

She further spoke to followers who were expecting continuous health information about Dolly from her siblings.
“With that in mind, those of you who feel compelled to criticize or offend me for not acting as your source of news are not genuine supporters,” she stated. “True fans would not go to such lengths to utter the damaging remarks you’ve published across my various social media channels in the last day!”
Stella’s message appeared the day after Freida caused concern among some followers with an unclear health update about Dolly and a plea for spiritual support. Stella and Freida are among Dolly’s eleven brothers and sisters.
“Yesterday evening, I spent the entire night in prayer for my sister, Dolly,” Freida shared on Facebook. “A lot of you are aware she hasn't been in top form recently. I have strong faith in the effectiveness of prayer, and I felt compelled to ask everyone worldwide who cherishes her to join me as prayer warriors.”
She went on to say, “She possesses strength, she is adored, and with all the supplications being offered for her, I am certain in my spirit that she will recover completely. Best wishes, my dear Dolly. Our collective love is with you.”

Freida subsequently shared a clarification after fans started to show apprehension for Dolly.
“I wish to clarify something. My intention was not to alarm anyone or imply such gravity when requesting prayers for Dolly,” she explained. “She has been feeling slightly unwell, and I merely sought prayers due to my profound conviction in their efficacy. It was purely a younger sister seeking intercession for her elder sister. I appreciate all your support. Your affection genuinely has an impact.”
Dolly declared her forthcoming performances would be rescheduled as her physicians recommended she undergo “several medical interventions.”
“As I jested with them, it seems to be time for my major service check-up, though it isn’t my customary visit to my cosmetic doctor,” she remarked then. “Seriously speaking, under these circumstances, I won't be able to practice and assemble the performance I envision for you, and the show you are entitled to witness. You invest a significant amount to attend my concerts, and I aim to deliver my peak performance for you.”
Her deferred performances, initially scheduled for December, have now been moved to September 2026.
