Tamar Braxton Slams "Baseless" Romance Rumors with Mendeecees Harris
Tamar Braxton has finally addressed the swirling reports suggesting a romantic involvement with Love and Hip Hop star Mendeecees Harris.
“Over the summer, I dedicated myself entirely to Heartbreak Renegade, a creative endeavor comprising a six-track EP and an accompanying short film,” the 48-year-old vocalist declared in a message posted to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, December 2. “Witnessing its ascent to the #1 spot on the iTunes R&B charts and breaking into the Top 20 across all genres has brought immense joy to both myself and my collaborators. The outpouring of support has been truly remarkable!”
She went on to state, “Therefore, it is particularly distressing to observe a malicious and utterly baseless rumor circulating online this week — alleging an improper liaison between myself and my male co-star. I want to be absolutely clear: this fabrication is false. It's disheartening that at the very moment one achieves something significant, certain individuals opt to retaliate with unfounded hearsay and scandalous speculation.”
Braxton further emphasized that these allegations impact not just her and Harris, 47, but also their respective families and close associates.

“These baseless claims extend beyond merely affecting me — they impact our families, our children, our dearest ones, individuals who never sought to be embroiled in such absurdity,” she stated. “I had genuinely hoped that by this point, we would observe a higher standard from those who profess to report with integrity and to care for our community. Regarding my personal response, I am entrusting my legal team to handle the matter forthwith. My focus remains firmly on my passions: generating art, crafting narratives, and producing meaningful music and cinema.”
Braxton brought her statement to a close by asserting, “The time for games has ceased.”
The association between Braxton and Harris began when he portrayed her romantic counterpart in her music video for “Heartbreak Renegade.” Although Braxton has not been publicly linked to anyone romantically since her 2024 separation from former fiancé Jeremy “JR” Robinson, Harris has been wed to his wife Yandy Smith since 2015.
Speculation intensified regarding a romantic liaison between Braxton and Harris following claims by YouTuber Funky Dineva, who asserted he witnessed the two sharing a kiss on the very evening the Braxton Family Values personality sustained a mouth injury.
“I must confess, it made me uneasy. Genuinely uneasy. This unfolding directly before my eyes,” Dineva asserted in a YouTube video published on Tuesday. “They had evidently been engaged in clandestine activities for some time, but I personally observed them intimately embracing in the Uber. She was seated on his lap, showering him with kisses, including passionate displays.”
Dineva further alleged that upon their arrival at Braxton’s residence, comprising himself, Braxton, and Harris, the pair ascended “upstairs together” with one of Harris’ companions eventually joining them.

Dineva’s online content alludes to Braxton’s prior disclosure that she was recuperating subsequent to being “discovered in a pool of blood” by a companion.
