Taylor Swift Denies Consenting to Testimony in Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Legal Battle

Taylor Swift denied Justin Baldoni’s assertion that she had “consented” to provide testimony in his legal battle against Blake Lively, according to Us Weekly.
“As the attorneys involved are aware, from the very beginning of this case, we have steadfastly argued that our client possesses no significant involvement in these proceedings,” stated a document submitted by Swift’s legal representatives on Friday, September 12, which Us Weekly acquired.
“Moreover, our client never consented to a deposition, but should she be compelled to give one, we indicated (having only learned of the deposition request three days prior) that her availability could permit the necessary time during the week of October 20, provided the parties resolve their disagreements,” the submission, directed to the presiding judge, further detailed. “We remain uninvolved in those disagreements.”
As Us had earlier disclosed, Baldoni’s legal representatives sent a letter on Thursday, September 11, asserting that the music icon had “agreed” to give testimony the following month.
Baldoni’s counsel indicated the deposition was scheduled for October 20 through October 25. His lawyers sought an extension for the deadline to question third parties, granting them more time to communicate with Swift, 35. Lively, 38, strongly rejected this plea, urging the court to deny Baldoni, 41, any further leeway.
The presiding judge has not yet made a decision on the issue, but it seems that should Swift provide a deposition, it would not be by her “agreement” but instead under “compulsion.”
As Us initially reported, Lively asserted that Baldoni’s recent attempts to depose Swift showed a lack of respect.
Blake Lively Seeks to Prevent Justin Baldoni from Demanding Taylor Swift’s Communications
Lively’s representatives stated that Baldoni and his associates had “consistently tried to involve [Swift] in this lawsuit to further their persistent public relations agenda.”
“Regarding this, [Baldoni and his team’s] insufficient effort, coupled with their disregard for [Swift’s] personal space and commitments, is astonishing,” Lively’s team penned in reply to Baldoni’s extension plea.
The Gossip Girl actress’s attorney further noted, “The discovery process has been active for over half a year, and [Swift] is a person whose schedule is undeniably full of professional engagements booked far in advance.”
Swift addressed her inclusion in the legal dispute back in March, following Baldoni’s withdrawal of an earlier subpoena.
Blake Lively Requests Removal of 'Unfounded' Taylor Swift Allegations from Court Documentation
The spokesperson affirmed that Swift has no connection to the movie or any pertinent information regarding the lawsuit.
“Taylor Swift was never present on the film’s set, she played no part in any casting or artistic choices, she did not compose the film’s score, she never reviewed an edit or provided any feedback on the movie, she didn’t even watch It Ends With Us until several weeks post-release, and was touring worldwide throughout 2023 and 2024 leading the most monumental tour ever,” the representative further elaborated.
Blake Lively Denounces 'Provocative' Taylor Swift Assertions by Baldoni’s Camp
As Us previously revealed, Lively initiated legal action against Baldoni concerning purported sexual harassment during the filming of their 2024 movie. Baldoni refuted these allegations.
Lively further claimed Baldoni engaged a crisis management firm to disparage her publicly. He, in turn, asserted that she was responsible for defaming him with false accusations.
