Taylor Swift Dismisses Retirement Rumors, Credits Travis Kelce for Supporting Her Career

Taylor Swift is putting an end to rumors suggesting she will retire from music after her marriage to Travis Kelce.
During an interview on Monday, October 6, with BBC Radio 2 in the U.K., host Scott Mills questioned Swift, 35, regarding fan concerns that she would cease her musical career upon getting married.
“Is this truly your final album?” Mills inquired of the artist.
Swift replied, “Pardon? Absolutely not.”

Mills then stated, “I've observed some fans speculating, ‘She's going to marry, then have children, and [that will mark her last album].’”
The artist behind “Fate of Ophelia” quickly dismissed such a notion.
“That comment is surprisingly insulting. People don't marry with the intention of resigning from their careers,” she expressed. “The fact is, I adore my partner because he appreciates my work and values how much joy I derive from creating art and music.”
She added, “What’s truly wonderful about Travis is his profound dedication to his own pursuits, which creates a bond with my passion for mine. He would never say, ‘I'm genuinely displeased you're still producing music.’ Picture him remarking, ‘The music I admired you for, which I knew you loved, I assumed you'd discontinue.’”
Swift additionally discussed her relationship with Kelce, 36, whose engagement she announced in August. The celebrity noted that while their professions are widely distinct, her path as a pop icon and his as a football athlete share certain parallels.

“Supporting one another is simply the most enjoyable experience, despite the contrasting nature of our work,” she commented. “However, many commonalities exist. We both, as a profession, as a livelihood, and out of fervor, perform for three and a half hours in NFL stadiums. We each put on three-and-a-half-hour spectacles to entertain audiences. … What he calls practice, I call rehearsal. His game is my show. We simply use different terminology. We both operate with teams. It's fundamentally a very comparable situation.”
Swift appeared on BBC Radio 2 to promote her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, which launched on Friday, October 3, and has already set new benchmarks. Billboard confirmed on Saturday, October 4, that Swift's twelfth studio effort moved approximately 2.7 million units within its first day of availability in the United States.
