Taylor Swift recounts the stylish chaos of Zoe Kravitz's snake escape at her home
Taylor Swift is sharing her account of the instance when Zoe Kravitz and Lisa Bonet misplaced a pet serpent within her Los Angeles residence.
This reptilian mishap transpired when the 35-year-old pop icon offered her home to Kravitz, 36, and her mother Bonet, 57, following their evacuation due to the California wildfires earlier in the year. As Kravitz clarified during an August interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the snake, known as Orpheus, owned by Bonet, had slipped into a narrow opening in Swift's restroom. Bonet seized Orpheus's tail, while Swift's property manager located a crowbar and subsequently "demolished" parts of the bathroom in a successful attempt to recover the snake, Kravitz recounted.
Approximately two months following Kravitz's narrative on Late Night, Swift offered her perspective during her own appearance on Meyers' NBC program on Wednesday, October 8.
“I'd like to begin by saying, we all have that particular friend,” she quipped to Meyers, continuing, “I distinctly recall receiving a phone call from my head of security as he attempted to recount this incident to me.”

Swift's initial inquiry to him was, “Which snake?”
“I found myself somewhat engrossed in the story,” she reminisced. “And I thought, ‘Right, understood.’ While I dislike naming friends specifically, it's relevant here. So, Zoe Kravitz and Lisa Bonet are grappling with a Burmese python. It's partially lodged inside the wall. A man is present with an ax, having just dismantled a bespoke vintage antique cabinet.”
Swift went on, “There are wood fragments scattered on the ground. They appear — in my imagination, they're glancing over their shoulders. This resembles an Annie Leibovitz photoshoot. … It's the most stylish scenario I've ever encountered. Zoe is dressed, perhaps, in head-to-toe The Row. I mused, ‘This is a YSL advertisement, not an issue.’”
She appended, “It simply sounds remarkable. I regret not witnessing it.”

Swift stated, “I couldn't even feel angry,” and recollected deliberately delaying telling Kravitz what she was aware of regarding the snake and the ruined furniture.
“I engaged in a small mental exercise, understanding her well enough to know she wouldn't inform me until it was resolved,” she explained. “I know her intimately. … I maintained a small countdown on my phone, literally tracking the days. I believe it was about three weeks, precisely the duration required to repair the compromised cabinet.”
When Kravitz ultimately confessed, she was “at my residence,” Swift recounted. “She said, ‘Hey, so, I — I'm just going to tell you about an incident now that it's taken care of.’ And I responded, ‘You had a snake in the house, and it escaped, and it was in the wall, and they needed an ax, and they had —’ and she replied, ‘I instructed them not to inform you.’”
Swift informed Kravitz, “Friend, I've been amused by this for three weeks.”
