Taylor Swift to Face Deposition Over Blake Lively's Lawsuit Against Justin Baldoni

Taylor Swift has consented to an interrogation by Justin Baldoni’s legal representatives concerning the film It Ends With Us and actress Blake Lively, a prominent entertainment publication can exclusively confirm.

Court documents submitted by Baldoni’s legal counsel on Thursday, September 11, disclosed that the celebrated musician is scheduled for a deposition between October 20 and 25. Her team indicated these dates were chosen to accommodate Swift’s “prior professional commitments.”

Baldoni’s legal representatives stated that Swift, aged 35, has “consented to attend” the deposition but cannot do so “prior to October 20.”

Swift’s album, The Life of a Showgirl, is slated for release on October 3, suggesting she will be heavily occupied with its promotion.

This publication has sought comments from the representatives of Baldoni, Swift, and Lively regarding these latest developments.

Baldoni, 41, initially issued a subpoena to Swift in May, linked to a lawsuit filed by Lively, 38, concerning alleged incidents during the production of their 2024 movie, It Ends With Us. (Lively’s claims include accusations of sexual harassment against Baldoni and that he employed a crisis public relations team to discredit her in the media after she reported his conduct. Baldoni, refuting the harassment claims, asserted that Lively was responsible for tarnishing his reputation with her allegations.)

Swift became involved in the dispute after being implicitly mentioned in court documents submitted by Baldoni in 2025. He contends that Lively utilized her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and influential acquaintances (including Swift) to exert sway over the movie's production.

A spokesperson for Swift subsequently clarified, asserting that Swift's sole contribution to the film was granting permission for the use of her track “My Tears Ricochet.”

Subsequently, Lively’s representative issued a press release expressing their “satisfaction” following Baldoni’s team’s withdrawal of the subpoena.

“From the outset, the [Baldoni] legal team has attempted to position Taylor Swift, an individual who has served as an inspiration to millions worldwide, as central to this litigation," Lively's representative remarked.

Following Baldoni's withdrawal of the initial subpoena, it seems a private arrangement concerning the deposition was reached between his and Swift’s legal counsels.

Swift and Lively maintained a close friendship for an extended period, though their relationship has reportedly grown “tense” in recent months.
