Teddi Mellencamp Shares Hopeful Update on Cancer Battle Declaring No Cancer Detected After Immunotherapy
In a significant health announcement, Teddi Mellencamp has shared encouraging news.
“For a quick life update, I underwent immunotherapy yesterday, followed by scans,” the 44-year-old Mellencamp revealed on the Friday, October 3, installment of iHeartRadio’s “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast. “As of now, no cancer has been detected.”
Despite this positive development, Mellencamp clarified that she must continue “immunotherapy for another year.”
“I’m not yet classified as being in remission,” she noted. “Upon hearing the news, I was completely stunned; I felt numb.”
Followers of the ex-Real Housewives of Beverly Hills personality have closely tracked her health battle since October 2022, when she disclosed her stage II melanoma diagnosis. Last February, Mellencamp announced that her condition had advanced to stage IV melanoma, spreading to her lungs and brain.
In the same month, Mellencamp underwent brain surgery to extract several tumors. Additional tumors were discovered by doctors in March, and Mellencamp was informed of a 50/50 survival probability with immunotherapy.
“The doctor explained, ‘No, that’s simply the duration immunotherapy has existed, hence the length of the study,’” Mellencamp recalled in an April interview on Nightline. “That’s where I try to find the silver lining.”

While Mellencamp characterized her latest health revelation as “monumental news” on Friday’s podcast, the former Bravo personality emphasized that her journey is far from over.
“I anticipate experiencing days of illness due to ongoing immunotherapy. Therefore, I continue to fight,” she clarified. “As explained, the process involves one year, then two, and finally, after three years, one can be classified as in remission.”
Mellencamp elaborated that medical professionals confirmed “all the tumors persistently diminished in size,” which she deemed “positive” news.
Throughout her medical ordeal, Mellencamp’s estranged spouse, Edwin Arroyave, has offered steadfast support, notwithstanding their separation.
The erstwhile pair — parents to son Cruz, 10, and daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 5 — parted ways in October 2024, with Mellencamp initiating divorce proceedings the subsequent month. Her divorce filing cited “irreconcilable differences.”
“Following extensive deliberation and careful thought, I have reached the challenging conclusion to file for divorce,” Mellencamp stated on Instagram in November 2024. “My paramount concern remains my children, and guaranteeing their privacy and welfare are safeguarded throughout this transition.”

Mellencamp and Arroyave have openly discussed their continued cohabitation despite their separation.
“We are, in essence, excellent friends, and I wish to ensure her well-being, having preserved our strong bond,” Arroyave conveyed during an August installment of “The Eds” podcast. “Thus, even though we are separated and estranged, and our divorce is still planned, we remain friends. I continue to regard her as a friend.”
He disclosed that they are not “quarreling” while residing together, and this period represents the “most amicable” they have “been in some time.” Arroyave described the atmosphere in their home as possessing “wonderful energy.”
