The Bachelor's Zach and Kaity Prove Love Can Conquer Reality TV Drama
Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar maintained a strong connection through the conclusion of season 27 of The Bachelor — defying the franchise’s pattern of dramatic outcomes.
The sales executive first encountered the travel nurse during the initial episode of his season, which was shot in the autumn of 2022 and began broadcast in January 2023. Shallcross and Biggarencountered difficulties during the overnight dates, when he disclosed that he had engaged in intimacy with Gabi Elnicki after previously deciding to remain abstinent throughout that portion of the competition.Elnicki later expressed anger at the lead for betraying her trust by publicly disclosing the intimate details of their private time together.
“Entering fantasy suite week, my goal was to utilize that intimate time to deepen our emotional bond and understand each other better away from the cameras. I was simply anticipating that opportunity,” Biggar shared with Us regarding Shallcross’s approach to the fantasy suites. “I was, naturally, very excited about our daytime activities, including the kayak ride and everything else, but it turned unpleasant rather quickly. However, within the context of Bachelor world, events frequently deviate from expectations, so I didn't enter the week with specific assumptions. I was simply hopeful that things would proceed without issue, and although we certainly encountered an obstacle, we ultimately emerged stronger.”
The pair did emerge with a stronger bond, and Shallcross ultimately proposed during the finale broadcast in March 2023. The pair proceeded to marry two years following their proposal.
