Tori Spelling Reveals Month-Long Illness Has Kept Her Bedridden
Tori Spelling is sharing details about an ongoing health issue she’s been experiencing for the past month.
“I simply wanted to check in and give you all an update,” Spelling, 52, said using her “playful, slightly raspy voice” during the Wednesday, January 7, episode of her iHeartRadio “misSPELLING” podcast. “I know I’ve been absent and it’s been due to feeling unwell.”
Spelling expressed that she was “deeply saddened” she had to cancel her and Brian Austin Green’s show in Las Vegas last month, adding that she was ill and has yet to fully recover.
“I’ve genuinely been confined to bed since December 16 … Yes, it’s nearing a month now,” she continued. “And I know I haven’t done my podcast. I’ve been missing creating it so much. It’s a real passion of mine and I love sharing my experiences, interviewing fascinating people, and simply expressing myself and connecting with you all.”

Spelling mentioned that she wanted to keep her fans informed about her condition because of the strong connection they share.
“I just kind of wanted to be open with you because I genuinely share everything with you [regarding] what’s been happening,” she said. “It’s been incredibly frustrating. I’ve been battling sinus infection after sinus infection, bronchitis, and it just hasn’t improved. I am frustrated with my body, I am frustrated because mentally and emotionally I feel well, I mean emotionally drained but my mind is always active.”
Spelling added that it’s been a challenge to “physically” “not be able to do anything” for the past month, including celebrating the holidays with her children. (The former 90210 star shares five children: Liam, 18, Stella, 17, Hattie, 14, Finn, 13 and Beau, 8, with ex-husband Dean McDermott.)
“Christmas was very different this year. I’m very thankful for my kids,” she said. “My daughter Stella really stepped up and decorated the house and the tree … and went shopping and bought all the gifts specifically so Beau, who believes in Santa, can have a wonderful Christmas and wrapped everything. I’m just really grateful for her.”
Spelling confessed that she tried to celebrate New Year’s Eve with her kids at home, but “had to return” to bed before midnight.
“It’s been disappointing to pretty much miss significant occasions this year,” she reflected. “But it’s a new year and I am hoping, not just hoping, I’m going to feel better; it’s just a period … a rather lengthy period. I’m really looking forward to returning to everything I love doing, being an active, energetic person; I’m someone who never stops. Perhaps that’s why my body finally gave out.”
While the actress didn’t provide any further details regarding her illness or give her month-long ailment a specific name, a flu-like illness has been circulating throughout the United States in recent months. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), eight percent of visits to healthcare providers have been for what has been labeled as a “flu-like illness,” ABC News reports — exceeding any levels since 1997, the earliest data available.

Spelling added that she has been working with a doctor to help her clear up her “persistent” sinuses.
“It was a really severe sinus infection and nothing was clearing it, antibiotic after antibiotic,” she explained.
In addition to relying on conventional medical treatments, Spelling has also been working with an alternative healer as well. The healer has been assisting her since Spelling and her family experienced issues due to a significant mold problem in 2023.
“I hope to be back soon and share more Tori stories with you. I love you all,” Spelling concluded.
