Vicki Gunvalson Shuts Down Meghan King's Return to RHOC With One Word

Vicki Gunvalson weighed in on Meghan King's recent skirmish with the law – and the long-standing "OG of the OC" conveyed in a single word that the past co-stars remain estranged.

On Thursday, September 4, the 63-year-old Gunvalson posted a comment on a social media update that featured Us Weekly’s exclusive coverage concerning King’s confrontation involving her ex-husband Jim Edmonds and his spouse, Kortnie Edmonds. A profile known as TV Deets had suggested, “Bring her back for Season 20.”

Gunvalson promptly retorted with an emphatic “NO!!!!!”

According to Us' initial report, Kortnie contacted law enforcement on May 1, alleging that King, 40, had entered her residence uninvited. King’s representative stated that the former reality personality was present at the house to deliver her daughter’s attire.

The incident did not result in any charges being filed. Kortnie sought a restraining order, but both parties came to a mutual consent agreement before it was finalized. They both consented to maintain a distance of at least 150 yards from each other during their children's activities, and King committed to refraining from discussing Kortnie on social media platforms.

A spokesperson for King informed Us that “The recent situation concerning Meghan King has been misrepresented.”

King’s representative further explained, “Meghan briefly addressed her daughter from the entrance, did not cross the threshold, had the door abruptly closed on her, and placidly placed her items on the stoop. As she departed, she was surprisingly intercepted by several police cars and subjected to treatment that seemed needlessly aggressive.”

King held a role as a cast member on the Bravo series spanning from season 10 through season 12. Gunvalson, conversely, was a prominent figure on the program from its inaugural season up to season 13. Her presence was noted as a recurring character in season 14 and she made special guest appearances during seasons 17 and 18.

Gunvalson and King did not maintain a friendly relationship throughout their time on the show. During season 10, King raised doubts about the purported cancer diagnosis of Gunvalson’s then-partner, Brooks Ayers. Ayers subsequently confessed to falsifying medical documents concerning his diagnosis, though he maintained he did indeed have cancer.

In 2015, amid a heated exchange between the pair on RHOC, Gunvalson prophesied to King that her union with Jim would dissolve within half a decade. King and her former spouse separated in 2019.

"I anticipated forming a connection with Vicki," King commented on her initial appearance on the program. "I was aware that Vicki's significant other was dealing with cancer, and I too was navigating a similar health challenge with [someone I knew]. I believed we could offer each other support, share our respective journeys, and find solace together; instead, I encountered a highly defensive individual who showed no interest in engaging with me, which left me astonished."

During a conversation with The Daily Dish, King revealed that Gunvalson's conduct prompted her to start looking into Ayers. “And that’s genuinely what propelled me to delve further into this matter. Because that’s not typical behavior. Individuals facing cancer tend to bond and assist one another. Yet, she distanced herself from me, and I thought, ‘What? This isn’t logical.’”

In 2024, King expressed her complete lack of interest in being on friendly terms with Gunvalson. “Honestly, who could genuinely be friends with Vicki?” King remarked to Page Six.

She further commented, “I mean, it seems to me that anyone who maintains a friendship with Vicki is insincere regardless, pursuing it solely for their personal strategic benefit –– not out of genuine affection for Vicki. To be frank, she’s not someone easily found amiable.”
