Vicki Gunvalson's RHOC Return Sparks Immediate Cast Drama

Even as the Bravo fan community continues to discuss “OG of the OC” Vicki Gunvalson’s confirmed comeback to The Real Housewives of Orange County, hints of conflict among the cast members are already emerging.

“Even as recently as this past summer, Vicki was sending me messages and stating, 'I’ll just remain silent [about] her comments,'” Gretchen Rossi revealed exclusively to Us Weekly on Saturday, November 15, during BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas.

“She shared some truly wild information with me,” Gretchen added, alleging that Vicki’s texts concerned her long-standing friend and fellow RHOC cast member Tamra Judge.

“Indeed, observing the shifting relationships will prove quite fascinating,” Gretchen remarked.

Vicki Gunvalson’s Comeback to ‘RHOC’ for Season 20 Is Official

The official announcement of Vicki’s return to the reality series occurred at this year's three-day fan event in Las Vegas on Friday, November 14, following a surprise by Andy Cohen who presented her with an orange on stage during The Bravos awards ceremony.

“Vicki, will you become a housewife with us for season 20?” Cohen inquired of Vicki, who was clearly moved on stage. (Vicki was instrumental in starting the reality television program and featured for 14 seasons prior to her departure from filming in January 2020.)

Following her appearance at BravoCon, Us spoke with Vicki, who provided an exclusive account of her surprising experience.

“Upon my arrival on stage, Andy had requested I present Kandi Burruss with the Wifetime Achievement Award, a request he made with only a week's advance notice,” Vicki clarified to Us on Saturday. “I had a speech ready, and when I got on stage, it wasn’t displayed on the teleprompter.”

She further elaborated, “When he posed the question about season 20, I felt quite serious walking out there, believing, ‘This marks my final stage appearance. This is my last BravoCon. They are essentially retiring me. I will resist the entire process, but I will comply.’ Then, when he asked, it took a moment for me to fully grasp that this represents my new chapter for at least the coming year. I feel immense gratitude and appreciation. My plan is simply to be myself, enjoy the experience, and uplift other women.”

Although Gretchen appeared to hint at some potential unresolved issues remaining between them, Tamra informed Us that despite her surprise at Vicki’s return, she is enthusiastic about the forthcoming season.

“No, I had no prior knowledge of this happening,” Tamra shared with Us on Saturday. “I’ve, as you know, been spending some time with Vicki recently and chatting with her. And I’d ask her, ‘Have you heard any updates? Typically, we don’t receive information about the next season until December or January.’ So she’d reply, ‘No, I haven’t learned anything.’”

She added, “So yes, it was a complete shock to her. A total surprise.”

Tamra subsequently expressed to Us her immense joy at witnessing her friend receive her orange on stage, mentioning that her husband, Eddie Judge, was seated beside Vicki’s boyfriend, Michael Smith, as the event unfolded.

“He was utterly stunned,” she revealed to us regarding Michael’s response to his girlfriend’s BravoCon highlight. “And he exclaimed, ‘Oh my god, this is really happening.’ Because he’s quite similar to Eddie, in that he tends to say, ‘Alright, you handle your business. I’ll go occupy myself elsewhere.’ So now, Eddie will have company.”
