A 911 recording released on Friday, January 2, revealed that San Francisco police officers received a call requesting “code 3 for a suspected overdose, with a change in condition.” Paramedics confirmed her death at the scene.

It is believed that she may have died from an overdose.

Victoria is survived by her father, actor Tommy Lee Jones, and his former spouse Kimberlea Cloughley, along with an older brother named Austin Jones. (Tommy, 79, and Cloughley separated in 1991. He has since entered a new relationship with Dawn Laurel-Jones, whom he married in 2001.)

Before her death, Victoria appeared alongside her father in several films, including Men in Black II and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.

Tommy previously spoke openly about his daughter’s developing acting career in an interview with The New Yorker in 2006, revealing that he even had to dismiss her from The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which was released that year.

No Evidence of Criminal Activity in the Death of Tommy Lee Jones' Daughter Victoria

“She’s a talented actress, holds her Screen Actors Guild card, and speaks fluent Spanish,” he said at the time. “When she was a baby, I instructed her nurse to speak to her in Spanish, but I had to let my daughter go [from the movie].”

Tommy explained the decision, adding, “She was required to wake up at 5 a.m. for her role. One morning, she refused to get out of bed. I said, ‘Honey, this is work.’ But she wouldn’t move, so I let her go. Then, without my knowledge, the production staff went over and roused her and hurried her to the set just in time.”

In addition to Victoria’s previous roles in her father’s films, she also appeared in Sorry, Haters, One Tree Hill and The Homesman. She hasn’t been involved in any other onscreen projects since 2014.

Victoria’s most recent public appearance with her dad occurred in 2017 when she accompanied Tommy to the Just Getting Started premiere.
