Walton Goggins Embraces Fame and Pete Davidson's Warning with Joyful Gratitude

Walton Goggins is fully enjoying his current fame, even after Pete Davidson suggested that public interest in him might eventually wane.

On Sunday, September 28, the 53-year-old Goggins posted a Hollywood Reporter piece on Instagram that detailed Davidson, 31, commenting on Goggins’ recent surge in recognition. This piece, which came out on Friday, September 26, covered Theo Von’s “This Past Weekend” podcast where Davidson was interviewed, initially highlighting Pedro Pascal’s rapid ascent to stardom before the former Saturday Night Live cast member mentioned Goggins.

“Consider Pedro Pascal presently. Just two years prior, he was a dedicated, excellent performer … [then] experienced an incredibly massive explosion in popularity,” Davidson relayed to the publication. “And then a year subsequent, he appears in practically everything … and suddenly people are saying, ‘Please disappear, man.’ They will undoubtedly do this to Walton Goggins; he is the next in line.”

On Instagram, Goggins posted a snapshot of the Hollywood Reporter piece, alongside various pictures showcasing his international journeys, accompanied by an extensive message. “Upon seeing this article, I felt compelled to reply. (Pete was reflecting on his personal journey),” Goggins stated. “Pete, though we haven't met, I'm grateful for the warning.”

Walton Goggins Discloses Whom He Would Contact for a Celebrity ‘Intervention’

Acknowledging his agreement with Davidson “on a single point” — the “magnificent” character of Pascal, 50 — Goggins spoke about the recognition he has gained from his roles in popular TV shows such as The White Lotus and The Righteous Gemstones. “At 53 years of age, I am deeply conscious that every phase of life has an expiration. I am thankful to so many of you for sharing this adventure with me. I suspect many of you (and I hold no ill will) are weary of my pronouncements. Believe me, I am weary of uttering them,” he penned.

Furthermore, Goggins advised followers to “refrain” from clicking on “anything featuring my name,” but if they chose to, he would welcome their encouragement. “To be mentioned in this headline is not an misfortune, but rather a fortune. How fortunate am I that such a scenario is even conceivable?!!,” he stated. “Far beyond what a humble child from Georgia would ever dare to envision. I wouldn't exchange a single moment.”

The performer concluded, “Should embracing opportunities more often than declining them constitute an offense, then I admit my culpability. And if this news item signifies a potential outcome or an unavoidable future … if this is my destiny … Then … so be it. I intend to revel in EVERY MOMENT OF IT.”

In the comment section of his post, Goggins reiterated his perspective on celebrity, merely typing “Love you” and garnering over 2,500 likes. He also replied to a devotee of the TV program Fallout, in which Goggins featured, who expressed she was “extremely pleased” by his involvement in the first season. “I assure you we will not disappoint,” Goggins penned in return to the supporter.

His fellow actor from White Lotus season 3, Patrick Schwarzenegger, also shared supportive sentiments on the update. “Maintain your momentum, sibling ❤️,” Schwarzenegger remarked.

Regarding Pascal, whom Goggins referred to as “a cherished acquaintance,” Goggins additionally stated in the comments that both he and the Eddington star intend to “continue appearing, I vow.”
