William's Reign to Usher in Complete Royal Exile for Prince Andrew
Reports indicate that Prince William has a clear plan for addressing the continuing issues surrounding his uncle, Prince Andrew, upon becoming King.
As per a report on Sunday, October 19, in The Times of London, William, who is 43, plans to fully exclude Andrew, 65, from “every aspect of royal life” once he takes the throne. The Times further stated that this future exclusion will extend to private family events.
“Upon William's ascension, Andrew will be prohibited from all facets of royal existence,” the publication conveyed, citing sources within Buckingham Palace. “He will be kept away from both public and private royal functions, including the coronation ceremony, and barred from the majority of state events.”
Us Weekly contacted Kensington Palace for their statement.

Despite Andrew's continued involvement in “family gatherings” with other members of the Royal Family — such as festive visits to Sandringham — William allegedly views Andrew as a “danger” and “a liability to the monarchy's image, and is reportedly troubled by the implication Andrew's attendance at royal functions conveys to survivors of sexual abuse.”
It is also anticipated that William will prohibit Andrew’s former spouse, Sarah Ferguson, from attending these identical events.
Andrew declared his choice to relinquish his royal title on Friday, October 17, against the backdrop of an active inquiry concerning his association with the deceased convicted pedophile and sex trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein.
“Following discussions with The King, and both my immediate and extended family, we have determined that the persistent allegations against me divert attention from the duties of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” Andrew stated in a message to Us on Friday. “I have chosen, as has always been my principle, to prioritize my obligations to my family and nation. I uphold my earlier decision made five years ago to withdraw from public engagements.”
The communication proceeded, “With His Majesty’s consent, we believe it necessary for me to take an additional measure. Consequently, I will no longer employ my title or the accolades bestowed upon me. As I have asserted before, I emphatically refute the allegations leveled against me.”
It is reported that William played a role in the deliberations leading up to Andrew’s declaration.
“For a long time, Prince William has been pressuring his father, the King, to take action regarding Andrew,” Christopher Andersen, a royal authority and author of Brothers and Wives, revealed exclusively to Us Weekly on Friday. “The Epstein sexual abuse controversy refuses to fade — the royals are bracing themselves, apprehensively awaiting further developments once all pertinent documents are made public.”
Andersen suggested that Prince Andrew had become accustomed to being the favored son of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth. Nevertheless, since her passing in 2022, Andersen informed Us that “it has become clear to Andrew that he faces the genuine prospect of being entirely removed from the royal family.”
“His dignities, his advantages, his standing — all were important to him,” Andersen elaborated. “However, these have progressively diminished over recent years, and he is now barely clinging on. What holds the most significance for Prince Andrew presently are the various benefits — securing possession of Royal Lodge, his grand residence within the Windsor estate, keeping personal staff, and a comfortable way of life.”

He further stated, “While his public image might be severely damaged, I believe he has arrived at a point where his creature comforts are paramount. Charles was about to divest Andrew of his Duke of York title, prompting Andrew to take the initiative and renounce it himself.”
