Witney Carson Plays Cupid for DWTS Partner Robert Irwin
Dancing With the Stars pro Witney Carson has taken on the role of Cupid for her current dance partner, Robert Irwin.
On Friday, September 26, Carson, 31, took to her Instagram Stories, posting, “Ladies, I adore you, and I appreciate all the applications that have somehow landed in my email and overwhelmed my DMs.” She continued, “If it were possible, I’d set each of you up with Robert, as you are all absolutely charming and gorgeous.”
She further stated, “Our lives are consumed by dance at the moment, which means we can’t reply. Robert as the next Bachelor? I’m not sure; this is getting too overwhelming for me to manage.”
Since being partnered with the 21-year-old Australian wildlife expert for DWTS season 34, Carson has made it her mission to help her dance partner find a prospective romantic interest.
Robert Irwin Reveals His Late Father Steve’s Thoughts on ‘DWTS’
After the live broadcast on Tuesday, September 23, Carson, who is wed to Carson McAllister, playfully told E! News, “Applicants will need to pass an evaluation process.” She continued, “Send your submissions via direct message, and I’ll pass them along to [Robert’s sister] Bindi. Following that, we’ll determine if an American tourist catches his eye.”
Robert Irwin, whose father was the renowned Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, has been unattached since the previous year, having previously been in a relationship with Rorie Buckley from 2022 until 2024.
However, before settling down, Robert’s primary goal is to win the coveted mirrorball trophy. Carson is presently instructing him in a salsa routine set to Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby” for DWTS’s inaugural TikTok Night, airing on September 30.
Their Week 2 tango earned Robert and Carson a score of 22 out of 30 from the judging panel.
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly on Tuesday, Carson noted, “I believe the greatest challenge lies in continually striving for improvement, doesn’t it? We aim to outperform our previous efforts.” She elaborated, “I consistently endeavor to create the finest choreography possible and instruct him in the most effective manner. Robert’s dedication is unwavering daily, which is why we form such a formidable partnership.”
She went on to say, “Frankly, I’m incredibly thankful for him, and we’ll continue our approach, hoping to maintain our strong position.”

Robert, commenting on his experience, informed Us that Carson has urged him to “connect with the music” during his performances.
“While I have no background in dance, I am deeply passionate about music,” Robert stated, clarifying his frequent lip-syncing to songs. “My motivation for being here is to immerse myself fully in this journey, singing along, embracing it, and dedicating every ounce of my effort. I am incredibly fortunate to have Witney to channel this whirlwind of enthusiasm and drive into something resembling actual dance ability.”
Furthermore, Robert disclosed that Carson advised him to “allow the music to guide his movements” and to “command the stage.”
His tango performance particularly captivated judge Derek Hough, who famously summarized his impression with a single word: the Australian exclamation “crikey.”
“I believe it’s the most appropriate reaction anyone could offer,” Robert shared with Us. “‘Crikey’ is an excellent term. It encapsulates everything, and if my dance reached a ‘crikey’ standard, then I’m absolutely content, mate.”
