Adidas Ups 2025 Profit Forecast to 2 Billion Euros on Strong Summer
Following a surprisingly robust summer season, sporting goods giant Adidas has significantly elevated its financial outlook for 2025. The DAX-listed company, in a late Tuesday announcement from Herzogenaurach, revealed an updated expectation for its operating profit to reach approximately 2 billion euros, a substantial increase from its previous forecast range of 1.7 to 1.8 billion euros.
This revised optimism is attributed by Adidas to two key factors: consistently strong business performance across its operations and the successful implementation of measures designed to offset additional costs stemming from tariffs imposed by the United States. These strategic achievements have bolstered the company's confidence in its future financial health.
In addition to the long-term outlook, Adidas has also adjusted its near-term sales projections. The company now anticipates a full-year sales increase of nine per cent on a currency-adjusted basis, an upward revision from its prior management forecast of growth in the high single-digit percentage range. This positive news was met favorably by financial markets, with Adidas shares climbing by just under two per cent in after-hours trading on the Tradegate platform, relative to the Xetra closing price.
Further underscoring its solid performance, the third quarter saw Adidas achieve an 8 per cent rise in currency-adjusted sales, reaching just over 6.6 billion euros. It's important to note that the 2024 figures still incorporate sales of items from the discontinued Yeezy brand. Impressively, the core Adidas brand itself demonstrated robust growth, expanding by twelve per cent during the same period. Operating profit also saw a healthy increase, climbing from 598 million euros to 736 million euros.
Adidas has confirmed its intention to publish its final comprehensive quarterly figures as scheduled on October 29, providing a complete overview of its recent financial performance.
