Amer Sports Inc. experienced a notable rise in its stock value following the company's decision to lift its sales outlook for the current quarter. Notably, this optimistic forecast marks a significant reversal of sentiment, especially concerning its premium Arc’teryx brand. Part of Amer Sports’ technical apparel unit, Arc’teryx had previously faced challenges, with its sales growth dropping to the slowest pace on record during the last quarter. The current projection of "reacceleration" for Arc'teryx is therefore a crucial element in the company's renewed confidence and future outlook.
Chief Executive Officer James Zheng underscored this positive trajectory in a recent statement, articulating the company's expectations for the third-quarter results, which conclude on September 30. Zheng emphasized that the anticipated strong performance would be “led by continued exceptional growth from Salomon Softgoods and an Arc’teryx reacceleration.” This statement highlights the strategic importance of both brands in driving the company’s overall financial health and growth.
The updated outlook reflects a substantial improvement in Amer Sports’ financial projections. The company now anticipates revenue growth to be in the high 20% range for the quarter, a considerable increase from its earlier forecast of approximately 20%. Furthermore, Amer Sports expects its adjusted operating margin to meet or even exceed the upper end of its previous guidance, which ranged from 12% to 13%. These revised figures indicate a stronger-than-expected financial performance and an enhanced profitability outlook for the period.
