Atelier Rebul Unveils London Flagship Bringing 130 Years of Affordable Luxury Fragrance to Marylebone
Marylebone High Street has further solidified its reputation as a premier destination for niche fashion and beauty brands in London, attracting a new arrival to its near-capacity retail landscape: the affordable luxury perfumer, Atelier Rebul. The brand's co-CEO, Nüket Filiba, articulated their motivation, stating, "It’s the place to be… the hype of the street, the branding of the street, so we wanted to be here, want to be part of the hype." This move marks the fulfillment of a long-held ambition for the 130-year-old Istanbul-rooted brand to establish a presence in the UK market.
The strategic importance of London extends beyond its retail appeal; it serves as a critical "travel corridor" for Atelier Rebul, connecting its key hubs in Istanbul, Dubai, and Jakarta, thus making this UK store an "inevitable link." This debut also introduces a unique new look for the brand, which will become a template for future physical expansion. The design of this inaugural store is guided by the brand manifesto, 'The Alchemy of Encounters,' expertly blending heritage with modernism. While the initial focus is on this monobrand store, discussions are also underway for potential entry into key UK department stores.
Globally, the London store becomes Atelier Rebul’s fifth monobrand location, complementing four existing stores in Indonesia. Beyond these flagship outlets, the brand boasts an extensive reach, represented in 21 countries through nearly 1,000 "affordable luxury" sales points. These are predominantly concentrated across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, with a particularly strong presence in Benelux countries like Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as in Croatia, underscoring its widespread appeal.
At the core of Atelier Rebul's identity is its rich, 130-year legacy, rooted in Istanbul and underpinned by a distinctive pharmaceutical background. This heritage contributes significantly to its renowned "fragrance craftsmanship." The brand's arrival in the UK is strategically timed, aligning with the booming niche fragrance sector. In a market increasingly populated by independent brands, Atelier Rebul's deep-rooted history provides a strong narrative and a crucial differentiator, distinguishing its offerings and affirming its unique story.
The brand positions itself firmly within the "affordable luxury" segment. As Filiba explained, "When you look at the price points in the selective cosmetics market, quality-wise we are in the luxury segment but in price point, it’s affordable." Its product portfolio includes the 'Niche Collection,' priced around £200, featuring seven exclusive fragrances crafted by celebrated perfumers such as Alberto Morillas, known for creations like Gucci Bloom and CK One, who contributed to their Parfum Artisanal Elixir 1. Additionally, its 'Best Seller' signature collections, like 'Istanbul' – a warm, spicy fragrance inspired by the city’s Grand Bazaar – and 'Bosphorus,' an aquatic scent with notes of sea salt and Turkish rose, showcase the brand's unique blend of inspiration and expertise. Each ingredient is thoughtfully selected, reflecting the brand's unique heritage and apothecary knowledge, contributing to a significant legacy in both perfume and home fragrance.
To further enrich the customer journey, the lower floor of the new London store is thoughtfully designed to house an area dedicated to bespoke product experiences and engaging perfume workshops. These immersive activities are crafted to "fully immerse customers into the Atelier Rebul world," fostering meaningful encounters and allowing visitors to connect deeply with the brand's philosophy and craftsmanship.
