Augustinus Bader, the rapidly expanding and highly esteemed skincare label, has unveiled its new Parisian flagship: an ultra-luxurious spa within the iconic Hotel Costes. Named AB Augustinus Bader Costes, this sophisticated haven of pampering officially opened its doors on Wednesday, situated alongside the downstairs swimming pool of the eternally fashionable Parisian establishment.

Spanning an expansive 1,000 square meters, the AB spa provides an unparalleled wellness experience. Guests can indulge in bespoke skin treatments administered in serene rooms featuring comforting barrel-shaped ceilings in pristine white. A highlight of the spa's advanced offerings is its high-tech Evelab, which integrates artificial intelligence, Ionix light, and LED therapy to formulate a truly unique and personalized diagnosis for each client's facial skin.

The selection of Hotel Costes as the spa's home is a testament to its enduring allure and prestige. Since its inception in 1995, Costes has been a revolutionary force in the Paris hotel scene, celebrated for Jacques Garcia’s opulent, "too-much-is-never-enough" French baroque style and its iconic interior garden terrace on rue St Honoré. It remains notoriously difficult to secure a reservation at its restaurant, drawing a distinguished clientele including movie stars, tech billionaires, and the city's most discerning residents. In 2021, the hotel significantly expanded its footprint by acquiring the adjacent Hotel Lotti and commissioning master minimalist Christian Liagre to infuse a high-polish modernism into its new spaces.

Christian Liagre’s distinguished firm was also responsible for the exquisite design of the new AB spa. The interiors are a harmonious blend of luxurious materials, featuring smoked oak, platinum travertine, warm nut-hued marble, and accents of elegant emerald glass, creating an atmosphere of sophisticated tranquility.

The grand unveiling of the haute gamme spa attracted a host of influential Paris-based creatives, including It Gal Lorena Vergani, System magazine founder Elizabeth Von Guttman, and fashion intellectual Jerry Stafford, all keen to experience the new offering. Beyond its treatment services, the spa also retails Augustinus Bader's coveted classics, such as the Crème Hydratante Riche—a rich moisturizing cream retailing at €300 for a 50ml bottle—and newer innovations like the Elixir and Vitamin C Serum. The Augustinus Bader brand itself was co-founded in 2018 by Professor Augustinus Bader, whose groundbreaking research at the University of Leipzig in Germany led to the development of a pioneering gel for treating burnt skin, and former banker Charles Rosier. The majority ownership of the company's capital rests with its founders and French businessman Jacques Veyrat.
