Bain Alum Launches Flout: India's New Precision Skincare for Skin Health

Former Bain & Company partner Rachna Bahadur has officially launched Flout, an innovative precision skincare label, in the Indian market. This new direct-to-consumer brand made its debut with two foundational products: a moisturizer and a serum, both now available on its dedicated e-commerce store. This launch marks a significant step for Bahadur, introducing a brand poised to make a mark in India's burgeoning beauty industry.

Flout’s initial product lineup features the ‘Boundless Multi-Active Moisturiser’ and the ‘Own Time Restorative Hybrid Serum.’ In an official press release, the brand highlighted its unique approach, stating, “Built from the ground up in India, Flout combines global-grade science with local biological insight to deliver products that are both superior in efficacy and accessible in price.” This commitment to both effectiveness and affordability is a cornerstone of Flout's mission as it aims to penetrate India's substantial Rs 14.6 billion beauty sector.

The brand distinguishes itself through a rigorous scientific foundation, having already filed one patent and conducted extensive multi-protocol in-vivo clinical trials. Flout’s products are specifically formulated and tested for Indian skin types, aiming to address critical market gaps and specific skin concerns prevalent in the region. The brand is dedicated to simplifying skincare routines by offering multi-active products that target conditions such as barrier fragility, pigmentation, and environmental stress.

Flout officially launched on October 27, introducing a progressive philosophy that rejects traditional "anti-ageing" rhetoric. Instead, the brand focuses on "prolonging the ‘healthspan’ of skin," promoting a more holistic and health-oriented approach to skincare. All product tests are registered in the Clinical Trials Registry India, and Flout maintains full ownership of its formulations, which are developed from scratch. Adhering to the EU’s stringent safety standards, the brand further enhances its product quality by sourcing advanced new polymers from Dow, ensuring both efficacy and consumer safety.
