BasicNet Brands Drive Sales Growth Despite Profit Dip, K-Way Sale Bolsters Finances

BasicNet, the renowned Italian group that manages iconic brands such as Robe di Kappa, Sebago, Superga, and K-Way, has announced its financial performance for the first nine months of 2025. The period saw the aggregate product sales by its brands reach €909 million, marking a significant increase of 7.3% compared to the previous year. Concurrently, BasicNet's own consolidated revenue also experienced growth, rising to €303.4 million, a 2.5% increase over the €296 million reported in 2024.

Further insights into the group's profitability reveal an EBITDA of €39.8 million, slightly down from €40.6 million last year. EBIT also saw a decrease, standing at €23.4 million compared to €26.9 million in the prior period. These figures are reported after accounting for €7.7 million in depreciation of tangible and intangible assets, and €8.7 million in depreciation of usage rights. During these nine months, BasicNet also expanded its retail footprint by opening 11 new directly operated stores, signaling continued investment in its brand presence.

It is important to note that these reported results are pro forma. They specifically exclude the extraordinary financial effects related to the sale of approximately 40% of BasicNet's stake in K-Way, a transaction completed on February 28. The associated costs of this sale amounted to €18.8 million. The capital gain provisionally calculated from this significant divestment is €140.1 million, which has been duly recorded in BasicNet S.p.A.’s separate financial statement.

Reflecting the impact of the K-Way stake sale, BasicNet's financial position has shown marked improvement. The group's net financial position with banks is effectively zero, a substantial enhancement from the minus €90.8 million recorded as of December 31, 2024. Overall, the company's net financial position improved significantly from minus €142 million at the close of 2024 to minus €61 million as of September 30, 2025, demonstrating strengthened financial health.
