Burberry’s New Year Collection Celebrates the Horse with Art, Ambition, and Asian Heritage.

As the Chinese New Year approaches, running from February 17th to March 3rd, Burberry is reaffirming its commitment to the Asian market with a significant launch: its first collection of 2026, dedicated to celebrating the Year of the Horse.

The brand is honoring the upcoming year with a special capsule collection and accompanying campaign. Starring prominent actors and Burberry ambassadors Chen Kun, Tang Wei, Wu Lei, and Zhang Jingyi, the campaign is presented with a focus on “intimacy” and a celebration of “togetherness.”

Directed by AJ Duan and visually captured by Anton Gottlob on the bustling streets of Shanghai, the campaign’s central film portrays “the poetry of movement” within the city’s daily rush hour. It depicts the four actors as they navigate towards a reunion, framed as a dynamic “dance of anticipation.” The narrative promises glimpses of “humour, warmth and surprise” woven into the urban landscape.

The ‘Burberry Year of the Horse (新禧贺岁) Collection’ centers around a reimagining of the iconic Burberry Knight motif. This signature element is playfully transformed into a watercolour and ink sketch, brought to life through detailed craftsmanship including metallic embroidery, cross-stitch, and appliquéd badges.

The collection’s color palette is deeply rooted in the symbolism of red, representing luck and prosperity in Chinese culture. This is evident in the exclusive new red Burberry Check featured on scarves and daywear. Outerwear options include the Berryhill car coat and Floriston quilted jacket, crafted from iridescent nylon, alongside an expanded range of gifting options encompassing soft accessories, bags, and small leather goods adorned with the seasonal Knight design.

Beyond the apparel, Burberry is enhancing the celebratory experience through a collaboration with British hand-painted wallpaper brand de Gournay. This partnership will manifest in unique window designs across Burberry stores in China and the Asia Pacific region. The collaboration also highlights the artistry of Xuan paper – traditional Chinese paper used for calligraphy and painting – with artwork by Chinese artist Liao Wenjun, further emphasizing the blend of heritage and artistry.
