Canada Goose Plants Flagship in Paris and Aims for Global Luxury Domination
Canada Goose has significantly expanded its European footprint with the grand opening of a new 300-square-metre flagship boutique in Paris, situated on the iconic Avenue des Champs Élysées. Located at 71–73 Avenue des Champs Élysées, at the corner of Rue Lincoln, this innovative space transcends traditional retail, blending commerce with art and embodying the core ethos of the Canadian brand.
Inaugurated in late October, the boutique's interior design is a thoughtful fusion of elements. It features a striking metallic DJ set-up, complemented by two pristine white sound bars, and an array of vases filled with plum hydrangeas, conifers, and bulbs, adding a touch of natural elegance. Grey pouffes, drawing inspiration from the brand's signature quilted jackets, provide comfortable seating. The aesthetic is further enhanced by wood-panelled walls harmoniously paired with metal pedestals, which proudly display books and archival materials from Canada Goose's Canadian headquarters at the front of the boutique.
The entrance, christened “Le Foyer,” is ingeniously designed to offer a seamless transition from the vibrant energy of the Champs Élysées to the immersive world of Canada Goose. The entire boutique concept is the collaborative brainchild of Anne-Rachel Schiffmann, an interior designer at the renowned multidisciplinary Snøhetta studio, working closely with the brand's team. A prominent and distinctive feature is an engraved wall by Inuit artist Ningiukulu Teevee, serving as a powerful tribute to the Indigenous communities who originally crafted the first parkas.
Across the boutique's two levels, a diverse range of Canada Goose products are meticulously arranged along white, grey, and wood-accented walls. Customers can explore down jackets, jumpers, sweatshirts, sunglasses, trainers, cross-body bags, beanies, and caps. Select pieces are also elegantly presented on tables, showcasing them as curated samples.
Canada Goose's commitment to Paris extends beyond this new retail space. The brand has firmly established its creative atelier in the city, led by the distinguished Haider Ackermann, who joined in 2023. This atelier employs thirty dedicated professionals focused on product design and development, further cementing Paris as a vital hub for the brand's innovation. Canada Goose also maintains a strong presence within high-end Parisian retailers, including Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, and La Samaritaine.
This latest European milestone is part of Canada Goose's ambitious vision to evolve into the premier Canadian luxury house of truly global stature. Building on its Parisian success, the brand is set to open another boutique in Milan on Corso Giacomo Matteotti at the end of November. Beyond Europe, Canada Goose has recently announced its strategic goal of penetrating the Middle East market. Globally, the Canadian company now operates over seventy directly operated stores, with a significant 80% of its sales attributed to a direct-to-consumer model.
Historically renowned for its cold-weather clothing, Canada Goose is proactively diversifying its product lines in response to global climate change. Its spring collections, first launched in 2015 and encompassing fleeces, knitwear, and various garments, have consistently demonstrated sustained annual growth. Looking ahead, the brand is also set to introduce a new line of eyewear in 2025. Despite recent takeover rumours, Canada Goose remains securely within the Bain Capital fold, with the investment firm holding a 60.5% stake in the company.
