Canada Goose Shakes Up Leadership as It Bets on Asia Pacific Growth

Canada Goose has announced a significant restructuring of its leadership team, including the appointment of Daniel Binder as President, Asia Pacific. This move coincides with the departure of Jonathan Sinclair, the previous Asia Pacific President, and Ana Mihaljevic, President of North America, signaling a strategic shift for the luxury outerwear brand.

Binder, who will assume his new role in April, will continue to serve as Chief Transformation Officer while stepping down from his position as Executive Vice President, Global Stores. His appointment reflects Canada Goose’s commitment to expanding its presence and capitalizing on opportunities within the rapidly growing Asia Pacific market. The company believes his experience in driving transformation will be crucial for success in the region.

Replacing Binder as Senior Vice President, Global Stores, is Niclas Ekerot, who joins Canada Goose effective immediately. Ekerot brings over 25 years of experience in luxury retail, having held senior leadership positions at renowned brands such as Bottega Veneta, Michael Kors, Gucci, and most recently, Burberry. Canada Goose highlighted Ekerot’s expertise in global retail operations, brand elevation, and customer experience as key assets for strengthening and expanding its global retail footprint.

The changes also include the departure of Ana Mihaljevic, President of North America, who will leave the company in February after more than a decade of service. In the interim, Carrie Baker, President, Brand and Commercial, will oversee the North American market, ensuring a smooth transition and continued focus on growth. Jonathan Sinclair will remain with the company as a board member for its regional subsidiaries, leveraging his previous experience as Chief Financial Officer.

According to Dani Reiss, Chairman and CEO of Canada Goose, these management updates are designed to drive continued growth in key global markets, unlock regional potential, and ensure the successful execution of the company’s long-term strategy. Reiss expressed gratitude to both Sinclair and Mihaljevic for their contributions and welcomed Binder and Ekerot to their new roles, emphasizing their critical roles in scaling the business in Asia Pacific and enhancing the retail experience worldwide.
