Carmina Expands Global Reach With New Boutiques in London Tokyo and Luxembourg
Carmina, the distinguished Balearic artisanal footwear brand, is strategically expanding its global retail footprint, with significant developments planned for 2025. In a move set to bolster its international presence, the brand is preparing to inaugurate three new boutiques in the final quarter of the year, targeting key luxury markets in Luxembourg, London, and Tokyo.
The expansion will commence with the opening of a new boutique in Luxembourg on September 30, located on Avenue de la Porte-Neuve. Following this, Carmina will make its highly anticipated debut in London’s prestigious Mayfair district on October 15, with a store on Clifford Street—an area renowned for its art galleries and bespoke tailoring. The final opening of this quarter is scheduled for November 30, when the brand will unveil its Tokyo store on the prominent Marunouchi Naka-dori, further solidifying its reach in Asia.
These three strategic additions will elevate Carmina's total store count to ten, significantly consolidating its international retail network. The brand's existing boutiques are located in prominent cities such as Palma, Barcelona, Madrid, and Paris, alongside a robust presence in the United States with stores in New York (at Grand Central and on Madison Avenue) and San Francisco. Looking ahead, Carmina has identified Germany as its next expansion territory, with Munich and Hamburg earmarked as priority locations, while also continuing its focused growth within the United States, its largest market by turnover.
With a rich heritage dating back to 1866, Carmina officially launched as a commercial brand in 1997, distinguishing itself through its unwavering commitment to artisanal production in Mallorca. The brand operates two dedicated factories on the island, meticulously crafting approximately 60,000 pairs of shoes annually. While prioritizing the development of its own direct retail network, Carmina also maintains a presence in the multi-brand channel, collaborating with 50 to 70 points of sale depending on seasonal demands.
Carmina's product offering primarily caters to men’s footwear, which forms the core of its collection, yet it also dedicates a substantial 25% of its catalogue to refined women’s styles. Financially, the brand demonstrated robust performance, concluding 2024 with an impressive turnover of 20 million euros, underscoring its strong market position and successful growth trajectory.
