Chanel lights up Covent Garden with magical first-ever festive display

London’s Covent Garden has cemented its status as a premier destination for festive installations, consistently attracting high-profile brands during the holiday season. In recent years, a number of luxury houses have adorned the space with elaborate displays, including Jo Malone, Max Mara, and Marc Jacobs. This year, the spotlight falls on Chanel, marking a significant first for the brand in this location.

For the first time ever, Chanel has designed an “enchanted and immersive installation” specifically for Covent Garden's North Piazza. The installation serves not only as a festive attraction but also as a celebration of the brand’s long-standing presence in the area, drawing attention to its flagship boutique which opened over a decade ago. Visitors are invited to experience a magical moment influenced by the brand's rich heritage.

The design of the installation draws inspiration from constellations and emblematic Chanel symbols, including the lion, wheat, camellia, comet, and pearls. These elements are reimagined within a starry sky motif, centered around an illuminated Nº5 bottle encased in a helix structure. This combination creates a magical atmosphere in the piazza, blending brand identity with festive charm.

The installation is accessible to the public until December 28th, though it will be closed on Christmas Day. Adding to the festive experience, live music performances will take place every hour between 2:00 pm and 6:30 pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, enhancing the celebratory ambiance for visitors.

Covent Garden's appeal as a festive shopping destination extends beyond brand installations. Its combination of a giant Christmas tree, street entertainers, and historic architecture draws both UK and international visitors during the holiday period. Furthermore, its high concentration of beauty boutiques makes it a critical location for beauty shoppers, solidifying its position as a major festive retail hub.
