Deichmann splashes £720k on upgraded Manchester Arndale store opening October 27th

Major European footwear retailer Deichmann is poised to unveil a significantly upgraded store at Manchester's Arndale Shopping Centre. Following a substantial investment of £720,000, the expanded 6,880 sq ft unit on Corporation Street is scheduled to open its doors to the public on October 27th.

The revitalized Manchester store will offer Deichmann's comprehensive selection of footwear, catering to men, women, and children. Customers can expect to find exclusive lines from renowned brands such as Adidas, Nike, Skechers, and Fila, alongside Deichmann's popular own-brand fashion collections, which also include a range of bags.

To celebrate the grand reopening, Deichmann will host a special public event on November 1st. The day will feature various in-store offers and engaging family activities. Highlights include complimentary shoes for the first 25 customers, with a value of up to £30 each, a generous 50% discount on selected lines, and an exciting 'spin-the-wheel' game offering exclusive discounts to participants.

This local expansion comes as the Deichmann group continues to demonstrate robust performance globally. In its fiscal 2024 results, published in April, the Essen, Germany-based company reported a gross revenue of approximately €8.7 billion, marking a slight but consistent increase from the €8.5 billion recorded in fiscal 2023. Net of exchange rate effects, the footwear retailer's revenue saw a growth of 2.3% in 2024. During this period, Deichmann successfully sold over 180 million pairs of shoes across its worldwide network of physical stores and e-shops.

Deichmann's global presence remains strong, operating in over 30 countries. The company's international strategy is evident in its revenue distribution, with approximately 68% of its 2024 revenue generated outside of Germany. At the close of the fiscal year, Deichmann maintained a stable network of nearly 4,700 stores worldwide, complemented by around 40 e-commerce platforms, reinforcing its position as a leading global footwear provider.
