Desigual Teams Up With Egonlab for a Parisian-Catalan Fashion Fusion
Barcelona-based fashion house Desigual is significantly enhancing its presence and relationships within the French market through a new and exciting collaboration. The brand has partnered with the Parisian label Egonlab to launch a distinctive capsule collection. This new offering skillfully blends Desigual’s iconic optimism with Egonlab's rebellious creative spirit, resulting in a unique proposition that marries the design sensibilities of both Barcelona and Paris. The collection became available on November 6 via Desigual’s e-commerce platform and at select retail locations, showcasing a contemporary and audacious aesthetic.
The capsule collection is conceptualized with a bold vision, masterfully navigating the interplay between tradition and modernity. Drawing inspiration from Egonlab’s characteristic dualities—such as masculine and feminine, and urban alongside artisanal—the range encompasses a variety of apparel including denim, dresses, jumpers, long coats, trench coats, and a cozy knitted scarf. The collection offers accessible luxury with prices starting at €49.95 for a short-sleeved T-shirt and reaching €699 for a premium leather jacket featuring a sophisticated Mandarin collar.
This partnership is a clear indicator of Desigual’s evolving strategic direction. Fernanda Blasco, Desigual’s product director, explained, “Collaborating with Egonlab reflects Desigual’s commitment to continuing to work with international talent whose vision resonates with new generations and supports the brand’s evolution towards a more premium, contemporary positioning.” This initiative aligns with Desigual’s recent history of collaborating with cutting-edge designers, including New York-based Tyler McGillivary and the innovative brand Botter, founded by Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh.
The collaboration specifically fortifies Desigual's ties with France, which remains one of its most pivotal markets, while also reinforcing its broader international standing. To emphasize the importance of this relationship, the collection was officially unveiled on November 5 at a special event held at Desigual’s store located at 3 Rue des Rosiers in Paris. Desigual’s dedication to the French market is further evidenced by its recent collaborations with esteemed creators such as Christian Lacroix and Alphonse Maitrepierre.
Established in 1984 by Thomas Meyer and headquartered in Barcelona, Desigual has grown into a significant global player, operating over 280 company-owned stores and maintaining a presence in 107 markets across ten distinct sales channels. In its 2024 financial year, the company reported a robust turnover of €332 million, a testament to the strong performance of its online channel and a surge in international sales. Egonlab, founded in 2019 by Florentin Glémarec and Kévin Nompeix and based in Paris, is celebrated for its irreverent spirit rooted in freedom of expression and fluidity, consistently delivering creations that blend an eco-responsible approach with a fresh, contemporary reinterpretation of classic fashion codes.
