Dior Rallies Top Talent Under Anderson's Vision with Key Hires in Design and PR

Christian Dior is embarking on a significant strategic realignment, preparing for a new era under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson. This pivotal moment is being accompanied by a comprehensive restructuring and strengthening of its senior staff, particularly within critical departments such as communications and design. These appointments signal the LVMH group's flagship brand's commitment to reinforcing its global presence and brand image.

A key development in this reorganisation is the return of Peter Utz to the Parisian label, a move that significantly bolsters Dior's communications department. Utz has been appointed as the Head of Global PR for both the men's and women's collections, a role that also encompasses the crucial responsibility of celebrity relations. His return marks a full-circle moment, as he originally commenced his professional journey with Christian Dior Couture in retail sales back in 2002.

Utz brings over two decades of extensive experience within the luxury sector, having worked across various prominent brands in both France and the USA. Following his initial tenure at Dior, he spent four years at Prada from 2008 to 2012. He then transitioned to Saint Laurent, where he served as the Head of VIP Relations, notably collaborating closely with Hedi Slimane, who was the creative director at the time (2012-2016). After relocating to Los Angeles in 2016 to become the Head of Brand Marketing at the concept store Maxfield, Utz reunited with Slimane at Celine in 2018, joining the LVMH group once again. At Celine, he was instrumental in managing the couture line, corporate events, strategic client relationships, and international events.

In his new capacity at Dior, Utz will be integral to the communications team, working alongside Mathilde Favier, who leads women's celebrity relations, and Sam Maouchi, in charge of men’s celebrity relations. This collaborative structure underscores Dior's unified approach to public relations and celebrity engagement. Utz will report directly to Olivier Bialobos, Christian Dior’s head of communications and brand image, ensuring a cohesive and high-level strategy for the brand's global outreach.

Beyond communications, Christian Dior has also significantly reinforced its design department with the appointment of Michela Kalb. As the new Head of Haute Couture, Women's and Men's Ready-to-Wear, Women’s Footwear, and Baby Wear collections, Kalb assumes a broad and crucial mandate. Her appointment reflects Dior's holistic vision for its design output, aiming for seamless integration and elevated standards across all its diverse fashion lines as it steps into this exciting new chapter.
