Dior’s New Campaign: A Star-Studded Celebration of Individual Style and Timeless Elegance
Dior’s Spring-Summer 2026 global campaign, helmed by creative director Jonathan Anderson, offers a compelling reinterpretation of the brand’s iconic archive, brought to life through the lens of renowned photographer David Sims. The campaign distinguishes itself with a candid and theatrical aesthetic, focusing on character and mood to showcase Anderson’s vision for Dior’s enduring tailoring and glamorous heritage.
An eclectic mix of personalities forms the campaign’s cast, blending the worlds of film, sport, and fashion. Actors Greta Lee, Louis Garrel, and Paul Kircher are joined by football superstar Kylian Mbappé, alongside models Laura Kaiser, Sunday Rose, and Saar Mansvelt Beck. This diverse group embodies the campaign’s central theme: a liberated and individual approach to style.
The imagery strikes a balance between effortless casualness and dramatic flair, utilizing body language, atmosphere, and setting to convey Anderson’s character-driven designs. Sims employs a combination of color and black and white photography, presented as visual sketches, to emphasize the architectural details of the garments while maintaining a sense of serene composure. Styled by Benjamin Bruno, the collection is presented as a versatile and wearable wardrobe, easily transitioning from everyday life to red-carpet events.
Set designer Poppy Bartlett crafted an aristocratic environment characterized by parquet flooring, fine linens, wood panelling (boiserie), and a curated selection of minimalist furniture. These uncluttered backdrops serve to focus attention on the models and their individual expressions, allowing their personalities to shine through and narrate the story of the collection. The intention is to create concise and impactful imagery.
Dior describes the campaign’s aesthetic as embracing a “liberated sense of style,” where individuals feel empowered to experiment with clothing and accessories. The brand emphasizes that style is not merely about appearance, but rather a reflection of one’s inner self and the way they choose to present themselves each day, effectively becoming a new character.
The campaign also spotlights Dior’s latest handbag offerings, including the classic tassel-adorned Lady Dior, the supple Dior Crunchy, the charming Dior Cigale with its signature bow, and the modern Diorly. These coveted accessories are given dedicated moments within the campaign, artfully displayed on a music stand or casually positioned on elegant furniture, highlighting their individual design details.
