European Outdoor Trade Show Relocates to Italy for 2026 Relaunch and Expanded European Week

The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has announced the highly anticipated relaunch of its flagship international trade show, Outdoor, scheduled for May 17–18, 2026. This significant event will take place in the picturesque Italian town of Riva del Garda and will serve as the core attraction of the newly established European Outdoor Week, which is set to run from May 15 to 20, 2026.
This strategic move marks a considerable shift for the EOG. Previously held in Friedrichshafen, Germany, the trade fair had gradually become more aligned with ISPO Munich, another major sports industry event in the country. In recent years, the show’s scope had become increasingly localized, primarily catering to the German-speaking market. The decision to relocate to Italy is a deliberate effort by the EOG to re-establish the event’s broad pan-European appeal and reach.
Christian Schneidermeier, EOG director, expressed enthusiasm for the new venue, stating, "We've worked hard this year to develop a concept that enables our sector to come together in a venue that truly reflects what we all love about the outdoors. Riva del Garda fits the bill perfectly." Nestled harmoniously between stunning lake and majestic mountains, the town provides an ideal natural environment for showcasing outdoor activities. Its central location within Europe further enhances its suitability as a hub for international collaboration.
Following a hiatus in 2025, the EOG has thoroughly reimagined the show to enhance its attractiveness for brands, retailers, and visitors alike. Beyond the core trade show, European Outdoor Week promises a comprehensive program of events. These include the insightful Outdoor Impact Summit, the EOG's annual meeting, a prestigious awards ceremony, and an engaging public festival. The festival will offer a unique opportunity for attendees to test cutting-edge equipment alongside renowned athletes and leading outdoor brands, fostering a dynamic and interactive experience.
Founded in 2003 by 19 of the world’s foremost outdoor companies, the EOG has since grown significantly, now encompassing nearly 150 member organizations. By selecting Italy as its new base for this premier event, the association is sending a clear and powerful message. This move underscores a renewed commitment to fostering cross-border collaboration, boosting industry visibility, and strengthening a collective European identity within the outdoor sector. Schneidermeier reinforced this commitment, emphasizing, "We want to ensure no one in the outdoor sector has a reason to miss this event."
Further specific details regarding the comprehensive program and activities for European Outdoor Week are anticipated to be released by the end of October 2025, providing more insight into what promises to be a landmark event for the European outdoor industry.
