Fabiana Filippi Co-founder Sells Stake to Brother's Family Amid Ownership Shift

Italian luxury ready-to-wear and knitwear brand Fabiana Filippi, established in 1985, has announced a significant change in its shareholding structure. The family of Giacomo Filippi Coccetta, co-founder and president of the label, has sold its entire stake to Ventisettetredici S.r.l., a company owned by the family of Giacomo's brother, Mario Filippi Coccetta, who serves as the brand's CEO and co-founder.

According to a press release issued by Fabiana Filippi, this transaction marks "part of the company’s evolution process." The statement further clarifies that the "decision is the result of a shared evaluation and a desire to ensure greater stability to the ownership structure in the medium to long term." The company confirmed that its "strategic and operational activities will continue to develop in line with the current business plan." In the same release, Mario Filippi Coccetta thanked Giacomo’s family for their contributions to the company's growth and competitive positioning.

Fabiana Filippi stated its determination to continue investing in its core identity, focusing on product quality and manufacturing excellence. The brand, headquartered in Giano dell'Umbria near Perugia, has grown significantly since its founding, distributing through approximately 700 stores across more than 60 countries. It also operates monobrand stores in key fashion capitals worldwide, including Milan, London, and Paris.

The company's evolution since 1985 began with the manufacturing of branded knitwear in 1990, followed by the introduction of ready-to-wear collections in 2000, and later, accessories. Recent financial data for Fabiana Filippi S.p.A. shows a challenging performance in 2024, with revenues reported at approximately €53.6 million. This figure represents a significant decline of 26.75% compared to the approximately €73.2 million recorded in 2023. Additionally, the company recorded a loss of approximately €5 million for the 2024 period.

The brand is named after Fabiana, the daughter of Giacomo and Donatella Filippi Coccetta (Donatella previously managed product development for the company). Fabiana, aged 40, recently departed from the family business in September to pursue a new venture in the beauty sector, founding the luxury skincare brand F2O.
