Fashion Brands Double Down on Physical Retail with New European Store Openings

As the year draws to a close, a growing number of fashion and accessories brands are reinforcing their physical retail presence through the opening of new bricks-and-mortar locations. This trend highlights a renewed focus on direct customer engagement and brand experience, with several prominent labels establishing new boutiques across key European markets.

Maison Ola, co-founded by Maria de la Orden and Grégory Mizele, has opened its first-ever physical boutique in Paris. Known for its refined hats and hair accessories, the brand launched its new store on November 17 at 33, rue de Grenelle in the 7th arrondissement. The 50-square-metre space is strategically located in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and designed to showcase the brand’s craftsmanship and materials. This new address represents a significant milestone for Maison Ola as it expands its footprint in the Parisian market. The brand's products are also available through major platforms like Moda Operandi and various high-end establishments, including hotels within the Airelles group such as Les Airelles Courchevel, Airelles Val d’Isère, Château de la Messardière, Jardin Tropezina, Château d’Estoublon, and La Bastide de Gordes.

The independent Parisian footwear label Phileo has also celebrated the launch of its first boutique. Founded in 2020 by Philéo Landowski, the brand opened its doors on November 27 at 37, Boulevard Beaumarchais in the 3rd arrondissement. The 62-square-metre retail space, conceived by Landowski himself, features an unconventional design with exposed structures and raw surfaces. This aesthetic reflects the brand's focus on the creative process and material tension, positioning the boutique as a "living space" for artist installations and collaborations. Phileo, which is distributed globally by DSMP-BD (Dover Street Market Paris – Brand Development) and sold in approximately 30 points of sale worldwide, has recently gained notable recognition, winning the 2024 Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris and being named a finalist for the 2025 ANDAM Fashion Award.

Two-year-old brand Caleb, founded by Aaron Moyal and Samuel Milgrom, is continuing its expansion with the opening of its first Parisian flagship store. Located at 72, rue Vieille-du-Temple in the heart of Le Marais, the 70-square-metre boutique features a collection built around a timeless, genderless wardrobe. The brand prioritizes durable materials and fluid cuts for its menswear, womenswear, and genderless collections, in addition to limited editions and exclusive objects available in the new store. This physical location bolsters Caleb’s presence in Paris and complements its existing international distribution network, which includes points of sale in St Barth, St-Tropez, Dubai, Kyiv, Italy, and Tel Aviv, alongside another multi-brand corner at Printemps in Paris.

In Annecy, the French premium socks brand Bonne Maison inaugurated its first boutique on November 19, 2025. Founded in 2012 and acquired by Laure de Gennes in 2023, the brand is known for its colourful, graphic designs made from Egyptian cotton yarn and manufactured in Europe. The new 30-square-metre space at 34, rue Sommeiller has been designed to resemble an art gallery. Despite generating 90% of its sales internationally (across Europe, the United States, and Asia) and 20% through digital channels, Bonne Maison maintains a strong global retail footprint with over 700 points of sale worldwide, including prestigious stores like Le Bon Marché, Isetan, and Printemps New York.

Acanthe, founded in 1983 by Antoine de Jouffrey, continues its expansion of standalone boutiques. Now led by the founder's daughter, Blanche de Jouffrey, with womenswear designer Aimée de Jouffrey debuting a new Winter 2025 collection, Acanthe focuses on offering quality, accessible shirts and apparel. The brand's commitment to durability is evident in its use of natural materials such as cotton, linen, merino wool, lambswool, and cashmere, notably highlighted by its Cashmere Collection launched in 2006. In October, Acanthe opened its 15th boutique in France, located in Levallois-Perret. The 52-square-metre space further strengthens the brand's physical presence and its direct connection with customers through its network of standalone stores.
