FrenchTrotters Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Immersive Lifestyle Expansion Beyond Paris

Opened in 2005 in Paris’s Bastille district, the multi-brand concept store FrenchTrotters—which now operates two locations on rue de Charonne and rue Vieille du Temple—is marking its twentieth anniversary this year. To celebrate the milestone, the brand is inaugurating a brand-new venue in Le Perche named La Muserie, representing a significant expansion beyond its traditional Parisian footprint.

"For our twentieth anniversary, we wanted to open a new chapter and broaden our horizons," explained Clarent Delhouz, co-founder of FrenchTrotters. Delhouz clarified that this venture, which had been "germinating for many years," was a deliberate choice to explore a new concept aligned with the brand's identity, rather than duplicating existing boutiques and potentially "diluting their exclusive, discreet character."

La Muserie is nestled on the edge of the charming village of La Perrière, near the entrance to the Bellême forest. The venue showcases the full "art de vivre" universe presented in the home section of the Marais flagship store. Delhouz explained that customers value FrenchTrotters' aesthetic, particularly the curated selection of cosmetics, tableware, furniture, and home linens. The new house is designed to bring this selection to life and offer customers a fully immersive experience in a new setting.

The house itself is available to let, allowing guests to stay and immerse themselves in the brand's lifestyle. Guests also have the option to purchase items from the house's curated selection, including furniture and cosmetics from Frama, Malo tableware, Racines ceramics, Astier de Villatte candles, and various works of art.

Beyond its function as a rental and retail space, La Muserie is envisioned as a place for gathering, experimentation, and sharing. Delhouz noted that the house will host multiple events throughout the year, including exhibitions, photo shoots, ceramics workshops, dinners with invited private chefs, outdoor film screenings, brunches, and yoga classes in the forest.

Clarent and Carole Delhouz expressed their delight in the journey two decades after opening their first boutique. "It’s been a long journey that has allowed us to give free rein to our passions," Delhouz commented. He reflected on how starting young, just out of photography school, led them to learn a wide array of trades and skills—including retail, creation, apparel, design and architecture, art, and communications. Delhouz stated that La Muserie intuitively and coherently represents "the first cornerstone of the next 20 years" for the brand.

Although multi-brand retailers have experienced recent challenges, FrenchTrotters has fared well. Delhouz attributes this success to following instincts, staying true to identity, and remaining independent rather than overextending. He believes customers today "seek authenticity" and appreciate the experience and offering provided by FrenchTrotters, which he contrasts with "soulless chains riding prefabricated trends" that are currently suffering most.

To further mark the twentieth anniversary, the Parisian boutique on rue Vieille du Temple will host an exhibition by photographer Alex Profit. The celebrations are scheduled to continue throughout the spring–summer 2026 season, featuring exclusive collaborations with designers and other surprises.
