Gloucester Quays Boosts Retail Powerhouse with Major Brand Influx
Gloucester Quays, currently operating at an impressive 95% capacity, continues to solidify its position as a premier retail destination. Peel Retail & Leisure, the operator, has successfully attracted a significant 8,000 sq ft of new retail space, welcoming a diverse array of menswear, gifting, and lifestyle brands to its vibrant portfolio.
The new fashion arrivals significantly bolster the menswear offering, with iconic British brand Ben Sherman set to open its doors. Occupying a 1,381 sq ft unit, Ben Sherman will launch its signature collections of shirts, polos, Harringtons, and other British subculture-inspired menswear styles towards the end of October. This strategic signing not only builds on Ben Sherman’s existing network of 15 UK stores but also notably strengthens the menswear line-up at Gloucester Quays.
Further enhancing the fashion landscape, Crew Clothing, a long-standing and popular tenant, has embraced an exciting expansion. The brand has upsized its presence by relocating to a new, more spacious 2,107 sq ft store, representing a substantial 53% increase in retail area. This larger footprint allows Crew Clothing to offer an extended range, including coats, rugby and polo shirts, sweaters, loungewear, and blazers, alongside its comprehensive clothing lines for men, women, and children.
Adding a contemporary edge, Label Yard is also set to make its debut this month with a new 2,411 sq ft store. Specialising in premium streetwear and cutting-edge contemporary fashion, this opening marks Label Yard’s second store location in the Southwest, reflecting its growing regional presence and appeal to fashion-forward consumers.
Beyond apparel, Gloucester Quays is diversifying its offerings with exciting new lifestyle and gifting concepts. Male-centric brand Menkind has secured a 2,110 sq ft unit, scheduled to open this month. The store will feature its popular mix of gifts, gadgets, and novelty products designed to appeal to all ages. Additionally, the portfolio welcomes Søstrene Grene, the expanding Danish homewares and lifestyle brand, marking its much-anticipated debut location in the city.
Paul Carter, Asset Director at Peel Retail & Leisure, underscored the strategic importance of these new additions, stating: “Providing breadth of choice for our customers is central to Gloucester Quays’ success as both a crossover destination and a top-10 UK outlet. These additions and upsizes strengthen our retail mix, reinforcing Gloucester Quays as a destination where brands succeed, and setting us up perfectly with a nearly fully let destination for peak trading in the months ahead.”
These latest signings and expansions underscore Gloucester Quays' commitment to delivering a dynamic and diverse retail experience. By attracting leading brands and enabling existing tenants to grow, the destination continues to enhance its appeal, ensuring a robust offering for customers and strong performance heading into the crucial peak trading season.
