JAK expands UK retail footprint to eight stores including John Lewis and Harvey Nichols

Portuguese sneaker brand JAK is significantly expanding its presence in the United Kingdom, marking a substantial increase in its retail footprint since its debut in British brick-and-mortar stores in April. The brand, known for its high-quality footwear, is now available in eight multi-brand stores across the country, showcasing its growing appeal in the competitive UK market.

Following its initial launch at Selfridges, JAK has strategically partnered with various local retailers to broaden its accessibility for UK consumers. This expansion includes its successful launch on Browns' e-commerce platform, alongside a physical presence in multiple Harvey Nichols locations across Birmingham, Manchester, and Leeds. Further solidifying its retail network, JAK products can now be found in prominent multi-brand stores such as Tower London (London), Lewis Yates (Billericay), Utter Nutter (Romford), and Nigel Holmes (Lytham St Annes). The brand's latest significant milestone includes becoming available at John Lewis in London.

Reflecting on this rapid expansion, JAK shared its enthusiasm on its LinkedIn page, describing being stocked in eight UK stores as "another exciting step" in its journey from Lisbon to the global stage. The brand's statement underscored its core philosophy, noting, "Seeing JAK reach new shelves, new cities and new people is a reminder of how far passion and purpose can go," emphasizing the drive behind its international growth.

Founded in Lisbon in 2014, JAK has cultivated a strong brand identity from its home country, where it currently operates three proprietary stores – two in Lisbon and one in Porto. Beyond its successful foray into the UK, the brand has ambitious plans for further physical expansion into key international markets including the United States, wider Europe, and Asia, signaling a determined strategy for global reach.

While sneakers remain central to its identity, JAK has been progressively diversifying its product portfolio. Demonstrating its evolution beyond footwear, the brand ventured into apparel in 2024 with the introduction of its first sweatshirt. This summer, JAK further expanded its clothing line by launching the T-shirt 01, offering options specifically designed for both men and women, indicating a strategic move towards becoming a more comprehensive lifestyle brand.
