John Brearley Ascends to President of Lectra Americas and Joins Executive Committee

Lectra has officially announced the promotion of John Brearley to the pivotal role of President, Americas, effective October 1. In addition to this significant regional leadership, Brearley will also join the group’s esteemed executive committee, reflecting his integral role in the company's future direction and strategic execution across the American continents.

Brearley brings an impressive career spanning four decades to this new position. His journey began at Investronica, where he successfully managed the business operations in the United Kingdom. Demonstrating a strong capacity for leadership and growth, he subsequently moved to the United States in 2001 to spearhead the company's North American division, laying the groundwork for his extensive experience in the region.

Following Lectra’s strategic acquisition of Investronica in 2004, Brearley seamlessly transitioned into the Lectra group, where he was initially tasked with expanding the critical consumables and parts activity. His dedication and proven results led to his promotion in 2007 to Vice President of Customer Care for Lectra Americas, a role he held with distinction for 13 years. In 2020, his expertise in fostering customer relationships and driving success was further recognized with his appointment as Senior Vice President of Customer Success for the region.

Daniel Harari, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lectra, expressed strong confidence in Brearley’s appointment. “We look forward to John Brearley continuing his impactful journey within the Group as he steps into this pivotal leadership role,” Harari stated. He further emphasized, “With his extensive experience in the industry and a proven track record of leading our teams to support our customers and drive growth in Lectra’s recurring business, John is well-positioned to lead our Americas teams toward accelerated growth, strengthened customer relationships, and achieve our strategic objectives.”

The Americas region represents a substantial and critical market for Lectra, currently encompassing operations in 31 countries. The company maintains a robust presence with 400 employees distributed across seven locations, including Tolland, Connecticut, which serves as one of the group’s three global production sites. This extensive network is dedicated to servicing more than 8,000 customers throughout the region, underscoring the strategic importance of this market.

Founded in 1973, Lectra has established itself as a leading technology solution provider, offering a comprehensive suite of tools that combine software in SaaS mode, advanced cutting equipment, data analytics, and associated services. These innovative solutions cater to global brands within the fashion, automotive, and furniture industries. In the last fiscal year, Lectra reported impressive revenues of €527 million, with €77 million attributed to its growing SaaS offerings. The Americas market alone is projected to contribute a significant 33% to the group’s total sales in 2024, highlighting its indispensable role in Lectra’s global success.
